Guest / 3:30pm EST - It's been a very good week for marriage equality across the nation. Today, the Maryland State Senate has been discussing the Civil Marriage Protection Act (debate is scheduled to resume at 5:30pm EST). We're back live today after taking the holiday off. And lots to to talk about.

Guest / 4:30pm EST - We're all familiar with the dot-com's and the dot-org's. Now, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number's (ICANN) is now introducing a new batch of internet suffixes, on of them being dot-GAY. GoProud's Chris Barron Melts Down

Chris Barron of the gay Republican group GoProud came on the show to talk about the CPAC conference and his group's participation, which initiated a boycott by some antigay groups and politicians. The audio of the interview, which was soon burning up Twitter because of his meltdown, is below. Let me offer some context though. Barron has come on the show several times in he past. My program was among the first media outlets to give his group any attention when it first broke off from the Log Cabin Republicans. We've had spirited but respectful discussion, as we disagree on just about everything. He seemed to revel in it, enjoying the back and forth, and certainly was not as angry and defensive as he is in this interview.

Not only did GoProud always come on the show when asked -- either Jimmy LaSalvia or Barron would come on -- but they reached out to my producer to come on the show at other times when we did not ask and we declined, as it wasn't the best time or was not about something we were interested in. I say that because Barron outright lied in this interview, claiming that he often doesn't come on my show (implying I asked and he declined), supposedly because of the way I treat him. That's when I ended the interview. I'm not going to put up with a liar who had clearly become flustered because he was caught in a contradiction so now was changing the subject.

Barron also told us at the last minute that he only had 15 minutes and must be off by a certain time, but then proceeded to filibuster during every answer. I had to jump in even if it risked appearing impolite. Otherwise I'd wind up with an interview that is like many cable TV news interviews in which the (usually Republican) guest completely runs roughshod over the interviewer.

Oh, and his comment that I have "4 listeners" is just embarrassing and silly: Sirius XM has more than 20 million subscribers. If even only 1 percent were listening he made a fool out of himself in front of a lot of people!

Today on the Signorile Show

Guest / 3:30pm EST - This weekend was the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, known as CPAC, which many conservative groups boycotted this year because of the involvement of GOProud, conservative gay group that helped sponsor the event. Christopher Barron, executive director with GOProud, joins us today to discuss some of the controversy that many are blaming the group for.

Guest / 4:30pm EST - Last week, we talked about New York City Health Department's campaign "It's Never Just HIV," which is a very blunt way of showing the potential of what could happen as a result of contracting HIV, like dementia or anal cancer. While some HIV/AIDS advocates think the the campaign could be effective, many are saying that this is stereotyping gay men. Dr. Monica Sweeney, who appears in a video released by the NYC Health Department, joins us to discuss this campaign.

Interview With Gay Blogger From Cairo

This is my interview on the show today with @IceQueer, a 22-year-old Egyptian gay blogger, who was interviewed in recent days by Dan Littauer at Gay Middle East. His voice is disguised (so I'm sorry for the strange audio, which sometimes is hard to hear), and of course his name not divulged, at his request for his protection.

Today on the Signorile Show

Guest / 2:30pm EST - We will be joined by an Egyptian gay activist this afternoon to talk about what has been happening in Egypt and what all this means for Egypt's LGBT community. To keep his identity safe, we'll be calling him by his Twitter name, Ice Queer.

Guest / 4:30pm EST - In the wake of 2008's economic meltdown and the Great Recession that followed, we have seen China become more of an economic power on the global stage. Is America ready for an economic rivalry with this growing power? Gideon Rachman, author of Zero-Sum Future: American Power In An Age Of Anxiety, joins us today to discuss how the US got into this economic mess and how China could surpass us as an economic superpower sooner than expected.

Dan Choi on CPAC and GoProud

Lt. Dan Choi came on the show yesterday and, among other things, we discussed his attending the Conservative Political Action Conference with GoProud, the far right Republican gay group that, from its actions, seems more hellbent on vilifying gay people -- on the left and in the mainstream of the movement -- than in furthering gay rights. Some people have criticized Dan's attendance, and he explained why he is going.

What the Protests Mean for LGBT Egyptians

Activist and scholar Rasha Moumneh, a researcher with Human Rights Watch who works with feminist and LGBT groups in the Middle East, including Egypt, spoke with me on the show from Beirut on Tuesday about what the protests might mean for LGBT Egyptians, who've long been brutally repressed by the Mubarak regime. Here is the full interview.

Guest / 4:30pm EST - Lt. Dan Choi, West Point grad who was discharged under the DADT policy, joins us today to discuss the criticism he's received for attending CPAC as well as the military sending him a bill for $2500 and his refusal to pay it.
