Trump's radical Supreme Court yesterday ruled racial profiling is legal for mass deportations, just after Trump declared war on an American city. Where will it end?
Dems should turn their backs and refuse to keep the government open unless they have some say in what is in the budget. Congress isn’t doing anything constructive anyway, so why keep the government open?
I agree with you Michelangelo. Democrats should not enable any of this. This regime is a who’s who of sadism, untreated mental health, demented , deranged , psychotic and dangerous buffoons. A clown with a blow torch unchecked is still a danger. It’s tragic what has occurred in this country. The oligarchs profit enormously hand over visit with the machinations of ICE, Geo, core civic and Palantir. Tax payers subsidize misery with an unchecked private for profit torture detention system. Sick sick sick. All of them. Bondi, Noem, Miller, Vos, Homan and RFK. All violating federal laws and basic humanity daily with zero accountability. Thank you for your attention to this matter🙄
The government that we knew and loved, the government that provided services is dead and gone forever.
What exists now is a hollowed out regime, a regime that can donothng except what the master orders.
The budget will do one thing and one thing only, and that is build concentration camps and fund the Sturmabeitlung/GESTAPO called ICE/HSI/NSA and DOJ.
And give Trump money to wage war on the rest of the Americ'a and Greenland. That issue is still cooking, and it is not far fetched, Trump now has the top 34 tech leaders kissing his ass.

I have never forgiven Schumer for voting IN FAVOR of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and "The Defense of Marriage Act." As far as I can tell he has always been a coward and interested in his own political power. Now is the time, as you say, Mike, to really put the pressure on Schumer and the other cowardly Democrats in the Senate to shut this fascist government down. The budget means nothing to the GOP and taking away any tools they use to promote their cruel, evil, unconstitutional regime is a win for the people of this country.
Thanks once again Michelangelo for this succinct, to-the-point and accurate summary of what’s now coming down from the reactionary cult in power led by that Disney-like villain – the Lying King. I am especially moved by Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s cutting dissent of the latest unconstitutional ruling by the Supreme Court negating our Fourth Amendment rights about unreasonable searches and seizures.
I think it might be time for a true Shadow Government to emerge and stand up for the truth and justice the government in power will not support. If there were such a Shadow Government, each of us could be a shadow Supreme Court Justice and issue our own short and clear dissent as every new un American ruling comes down from the current government. Any of us can do this as a self- appointed shadow Justice in the days ahead. So here’s mine:
Speaking of this convicted-felon president and all those who have come out to promote and amplify the dictatorial anti American direction now unfolding – turning back the clock and undoing the social justice and progress we have all achieved together – I DISSENT!
Ezra Klein had an op-ed in the NYT on this very subject. It was long-winded and basically summed up the sorry position Dems are in. But then "The Empty Wheel" argues against that. She calls out Klein for offering no solutions. She goes on to say that Dems are now in a powerful position to negotiate for the things we want: no Medicaid cuts, funding for hospitals, put back money that Trump cut off. Trump has taken over the job of Congress - money management - and she opines that there are enough shaky Republicans, who don't like many of these Draconian cuts (Ukraine!) that they can be brought to the Dem side in votes. The Dems need spetacle and power, and protests will back them up and provide the spectacle.
I respectfully disagree. “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” I believe that our economy is headed towards a disaster, due to the policies of this White House. A government shutdown will bring it’s own economic chaos. Democrats cannot give the Republicans an opportunity to blame them in any way for the inevitable economic ruin that they have set in motion. I believe in playing the long game. I want voters next November to know exactly who is responsible for their dire economic situation.
By all means, Dems should pressure the majority as much as possible to restore funding for vital programs, but don’t shut it down.

Schumer needs to retire. We need young, dynamic leaders with fresh ideas and a set of balls.
