The fabulist Congressman George Santos has told colleagues he’s stepping down from his committee assignments — he’d been put on the Science Committee and the Small Business Committee only two weeks ago — just two days after Kevin McCarthy stridently defended putting him on those committees.
In a tense interview on CBS “Face the Nation” on Sunday, McCarthy, who ousted Democrats Reps. Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee, steadfastly backed Santos, not seeing the hypocrisy of putting a serial fabricator on committees while ousting two respected members of Congress.
