As I've mentioned in Michelangelo's Weekend thread, a neighbor 3 houses away knows McConnell's daughters as part of a group of friends from school back in Kentucky 35 or so years ago. Even the ones in that group who are still very close with the daughters have heard absolutely nothing from them. Compete silence. Apparently, they haven't even responded with whether or not he's still alive. Draw your conclusions.
Not as far as I could throw them! This is quite a conundrum. It seems we may have FINALLY heard the last from McConnell. My only issue is that I'd like to see Beshear run for Pres in '28, but Senator would be decent prep. If he can get elected in Kentucky, then he is multiples ahead of Rubio and Vance in the Presidential race.

I feel Gov Beshear would be within his right to insist on speaking with Mitch either on the phone/Zoom meeting or in person. The claims that were out yesterday from republicans, sounded like they had a script, " s/w for 20 mins, talked about current events...", it was all the same. I don't believe them! As for the Supreme Court, they can not be trusted to uphold anything. They are a bunch of tools for the pres.
I like Andy Beshear a lot, and I hope he uses every tool available to take his power back and expose exactly what is going on. I think he will. My husband’s family is full of Kentuckians who would love nothing more than to see Mitch McConnell finally out of power, and I am right there with them. His legacy is already written. He will always be remembered as the man who helped open the door for Trump, and no amount of rewriting history will undo that damage. And one last thing: I work in digital marketing and use AI all the time. That image looked fake the second it was released. Painfully fake. They are not fooling experts or anyone who actually knows what AI-generated content looks like vs real imagery. McConnell is either desperately trying to claw his way back from something serious, or he is not fully aware of what is happening around him. Either way, Democrats need to stop playing nice, stop wasting the moment and use every legal and political advantage available to them.
. Under a 2024 Kentucky state law, interim appointments are completely eliminated, and vacancies must instead be filled by a special election. Thus Bashear can not appoint a Senator.
With Mitch still occupying a seat, they keep an important seat that gives them the majority

Massie would never win a statewide race. We will, in the end, be stuck with another arch-conservative, pro-Trump Republican in that seat.
If Republicans in Kentucky were positive about that, they wouldn't be hiding McConnell's condition.
