As I've mentioned in Michelangelo's Weekend thread, a neighbor 3 houses away knows McConnell's daughters as part of a group of friends from school back in Kentucky 35 or so years ago. Even the ones in that group who are still very close with the daughters have heard absolutely nothing from them. Compete silence. Apparently, they haven't even responded with whether or not he's still alive. Draw your conclusions.
Not as far as I could throw them! This is quite a conundrum. It seems we may have FINALLY heard the last from McConnell. My only issue is that I'd like to see Beshear run for Pres in '28, but Senator would be decent prep. If he can get elected in Kentucky, then he is multiples ahead of Rubio and Vance in the Presidential race.
. Under a 2024 Kentucky state law, interim appointments are completely eliminated, and vacancies must instead be filled by a special election. Thus Bashear can not appoint a Senator.
With Mitch still occupying a seat, they keep an important seat that gives them the majority

Massie would never win a statewide race. We will, in the end, be stuck with another arch-conservative, pro-Trump Republican in that seat.
If Republicans in Kentucky were positive about that, they wouldn't be hiding McConnell's condition.
