The ironic thing is, minorities have made up a large portion of our volunteer military for the last half century or more. It is a good option for those who don’t have the wealth to go to college and no connections to get them into the trades. The wealthy white folks haven’t wanted their kids to serve in the military, though this service has become part of the right wing culture in the last 20 years or so (after 9/11 it became a patriotic virtue signal) and more have enlisted. If they want to reduce the number of minorities who serve with their reverse DEI, they better be prepared to send their kids in and to go fight Trump’s coming wars.
