MAGAs respond to Trump's conviction--and it's pretty hilarious
Two Trumpist callers to my radio program reveal how devoid of logic and reason, and how filled with misinformation, GOP voters are in the wake Trump's conviction. (Audio embedded)
The day after Donald Trump’s 34-count felony conviction, the phones lit up on my SiriusXM program, with people calling in from across the U.S. and Canada for three hours.
Most of the calls were from people celebrating that justice was done and responding to the insane vows of revenge and unhinged rants from Republicans.
But some of the calls were from bewildered MAGAs who didn’t know what had hit them.
Jackson from North Carolina wanted to know what we wanted Republicans to do now.
“Where do you want to see Republicans?..Do you want ‘em just pumping your gas and bagging your groceries?”
What? You can listen to it right here.
Jackson defiantly claimed the “Republican Party isn’t going anywhere,” implying, I guess, that we needed to just bow down to it since we can’t destroy it.
I had to explain that, no, we just want the Republican Party to stop embracing criminality and maybe work with Democrats on passing legislation.
Jackson just didn’t seem to get much of what I was saying, because he was woefully misinformed. You really have to listen to it in order to understand just how deluded and out-of-touch these people are.

Then there was Tim from Texas. He believed Trump was done an enormous disservice and asked, “Can you explain to me why they disallowed Trump’s witnesses to testify? He had two key witnesses and they refused to allow them to testify on behalf of Trump?”
That’s not true, which I told him, explaining that it worries me that people like him believe Trump when he claims that.
The supposed witnesses Trump is referring to are witnesses that he and his lawyer had every right to call for part of his defense. They didn’t. And then they criticized the prosecution for not calling them, which is ridiculous.
Why would the prosecution call witnesses to help the defense? That’s not the prosecution’s job. Trump could have called them—but the truth is, they would have hurt him more than help him, so he didn’t.
I had to play a clip of Trump’s lawyer actually admitting on CNN that he could have called them. But then he wouldn’t explain why he didn’t, ludicrously whining as to why the prosecution didn’t call them.
Tim seemed to have a breakthrough moment after I played the clip, which underscored how he’d been misinformed. You can listen to it here.
Perhaps I was hard on Tim, as he did say in the end, “That’s a valid point.” Maybe I should have given him some more breathing room. Ah, well.
Listen in, and let me know what you think!
It’s unbelievable to me that people continue to give away money they probably can’t afford to a supposed billionaire who is a convicted felon. It’s got to be a cult.
Clinton never had a cult behind him, though. Everyone knows what Trump is.
People supporting him now applaud this behavior. Trump could come out and admit "I did it and I'd do it again" and they'd just cheer.
Just a reminder that if you go to church and your pastor compares Donald Trump to Jesus Christ, you officially belong to a cult.
It's a real flaw in the Constitution that a felon can even run 🤦♂️
Can't wait to celebrate wearing this tshirt on November 5th 👇

The concern that ALL of us should have is the high security & corruption risk that a second term Trump presidency would activate. This man would misuse his presidential power and would be vulnerable to other countries influence, and their ability to use his draining wealth to corrupt him for their own ends. We would ALL suffer the consequences of a second Trump presidency.
