The new Substack chat function is pretty cool
Especially as Twitter melts down. Right now it only works for IOS phones. But soon will be on Android and desktop.
So, Substack rolled out this new chat function for us writers to utilize for subscribers on the Substack app which, just as Twitter is collapsing, seems like a great place for real time chat among subscribers.
I just began a chat introducing it a little while ago, with some questions for you all about what you think of the GOP’s first moves upon taking the House — HUNTER BIDEN, HUNTER BIDEN, HUNTER BIDEN and, did I say, HUNTER BIDEN.
Anyway, right now to participate you need to download the Substack app — and have an IOS phone. Not sure how many of you read the newsletter on the app, by the way, but it’s a great convenience. You get an alert on your phone and can then read it on the phone, rather than just in your email.
And now with chat you’ll get an alert about the chat and can join the conversation. They rolled this out on November 3rd and I wish I’d have utilized it on election night. I see it as great for those kinds of events.
But I think it’s also great for listeners to my SiriusXM show, during the show, who want to comment but can’t call in — just as they use Twitter during the show — who are also subscribers to the newsletter.
And other times we’ll just do discussions about whatever topic, sometimes for just paid subscribers. Maybe I’ll do a bread-baking thread!
Anyway, sorry it’s not available for Android or desktop (The app is available for Android to read the newsletter; but chat is not available on Android yet). But they say that’s coming. I’ll keep you posted.
And of course, as the Twitter collapse continues, I’ll be here, on my SiriusXM show, on Instagram (@msignorile) and on Mastodon: @msignorile@mstdn.social.
Hope to connect with you in the chats.

Thanks, Mike! I quit Twitter the day that turd Musk bought it. I also quit Instagram and long ago quit Facebook since I do not trust Zuckerburg either. Nice to know their are other venues available.
Wow a splendid place to replace the blue bird
