I think Vance is maneuvering. The good news about that is he doesn’t seem to have the “allure” Fake Bone Spurs has. He just comes across as a jerk. I know Mike you always say you don’t want to see him take over but I think in 2028 they will lose badly if he’s the nominee. He’s just a mean grouch. It may be this is why Bannon is talking third term because Bannon hates Vance.
No surprise on Vance gunning for the MAGA throne, but he has the charisma of a dead fish. People have been pitching the plan where he runs for POTUS with King Trump running as VP, only to resign and let King Trump assume the throne again, but why would anyone in their right mind believe Vance would willingly give up that power that he craves so desperately? He would NEVER agree to this and really, they cannot find a patsy to elect that would. Think about it.
I don't think he will run and I don't think he wants the job anymore. I'm much more worried, as I always have been, about what is going on behind the curtain. What are the Project 2025 cabal planning to stay in power? What elections are they ready to eliminate or sabotage? I think what we really need to be focusing our energy on is winning as many elections as possible in 2026. Then taking the Presidency in 2028.
After that we really need to take a long hard look at what happened to our country and government in the past 10 years, and how it happened. Maybe not everybody should run for president. Maybe we need to get rid of the electoral college and have a national holiday election day so everyone can vote. If our Constitutional "checks and balances" only work as long as we are not controlled by fascists in Congress, we probably need to re-evaluate that as well. Oh, and term limits for Supreme Court justices. This whole mess didn't happen just because of Trump. The structure had flaws and we didn't call them into question when we had a chance to address them. Now we will have to do it in retrospect, but better then than never.
Your full plan requires full Dem control and a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, so it will not happen in the near future, maybe not in my lifetime since I am mid 60's. IF they retake the WH (and it is a giant IF since the GOP is now willing to out and out steal elections) they should quickly get the DOJ back on track and prosecuting the former Trump admin for crimes they have committed. They can't go after Trump due to SCOTUS's ill convenived immunity theory, but let's be realistic and understand he is not a healhty man and will likely be dead in 5 years or so anyway (although I liken him to a human cockaroach, so who knows?)
If there is a next time, they must move more quickly. Joe Biden royally scewed us by appointing Garland AG and now the full extent of his slow walking MAGAs crimes are well known. He was the wrong man for the job and I almost wish MAGA would attempt to indict him, real or not, so he learns the errors of the mistakes he made first hand. I don't care that he is old and served this country honorably for many years -- he is personally responsbile for the dictatorship we are experiencing now.
If the Dems get and keep the house (again, that giant IF applies here,) they should immediately start congressional investigations and keep them going into the next Dem presidency.

S. Korea really trolled Trump, even better than the Brits. First the president knew just how to flatter him, which shows to everyone just how easily he is manipulated. Then the dinner featured well done hamburger with ketchup dressed up as a red Korean sauce, followed by a brownie topped with gold flecks for dessert. You could practically hear the snickering behind his back. That gold crown was the perfect touch because they knew he would want to wear it.
The orange freak doesn't know if he's coming or going. He babbles continuously because he loves the constant media coverage. It's nauseating for those of us who know exactly what he is. If he makes any decisions, it will be by the seat of his pants.

Homelessness is a complicated issue. It’s not always about drug addiction, alcoholism &/or mental illness. Although, it is true that when the Reagan administration shut down federal funding of psychiatric hospitals, multitudes hit the streets and went homeless. All homelessness takes is a lack of resources and family support when times get tough. A lost job when someone without savings is saddled with student debt and car payments, maybe even a mortgage, and poof! They’re out on the street. And from there it’s very difficult to regain one’s footing. Divorce, death of a loved one, extreme weather events — these are also destabilizing factors. Many good people are out there every day, flying the trapeze without a safety net — just one paycheck away from devastation.
The list of things that could have been prevented if the people who care about voting rights actually used their vote to stop this gets longer and longer. Please somebody explain how this happened without blaming the candidate for personal shortcomings
Trump is a flip flopper. One day he is running for a third term, the next day he isn't. It all depends on who spoke to him last. He does have "Trump 2028" red hats already and he has been talking about running for a third term for months. I think he really does want to run again and thinks no one will stop him. After all, who has stopped him.
The constitution SHOULD stop him and I really do not see how the corrupt SCOTUS 6 can reinterpret the meaning of the 22nd. I do not believe blue states would agree to put his name on the ballot and I am certain it would be challenged in red states as well if they attempt to do it, on the grounds he is ineligible. Then of course the corrupt 6 would have to eventually rule on it (after resoundingly being rejected in lower courts) and not long ago I would have said it is preposterous to believe they would even try to wiggle out of the meaning of the 22nd, but even I have my doubts these days. Who knows?
