Tuesday thread: Fox and GOP attempt to rewrite history of the insurrection

Tucker Carlson selectively used footage of 1/6 to make it seem like a tourist event. Marjorie Taylor Green says it is Democrats who are "domestic terrorists."

Last night Tucker Carlson used the footage given to him by Kevin McCarthy to claim that the insurrection was not an insurrection, a “riot” or even a violent event at all: Just a bunch of tourists wandering about. And that it was all promoted as such by Democrats to take down Donald Trump.

We now know from the Dominion Voting System filings in the $1.6 billion defamation suit against Fox that Fox and its hosts don’t believe the Big Lie — and we know they don’t believe the insurrection didn’t happen.

But they are now all in. Their financial future depends on furthering the Big Lie — as they admitted in the filings — and in pushing all the lies surrounding the Big Lie, including that the insurrection didn’t happen. And the GOP has its own motives in helping Fox. What do you all think?
