Wednesday thread: Is it maybe better if Trump gets back on Twitter?

It's bad for society, no doubt. But it could help the Democrats in the election.

I’ve been completely in the camp that believed Donald Trump should never be allowed back on Twitter. The damage he caused to our country, our politics, the entire world is incalculable. But now with Elon Musk buying Twitter, there’s a solid chance Trump will be back. I’m rethinking and asking all of you: Is that necessarily bad?

Since he’s been off of the Twitter it’s been really nice. No big blow ups, and media doesn’t really cover the “statements” he issues, that his staff puts out — even sometimes on Twitter — which makes you realize media never really needed to cover his tweets so much either.

But maybe we’re experiencing a false sense of security, fueling complacency.
