Wednesday thread: The abortion rights blowout in Kansas
After pundits told us abortion wouldn't be an election issue, voters in the the red state of Kansas defied the polls
It was glorious to see Kansas voters turn out in massive numbers in the middle of a hot summer — turnout numbers that rivaled the 2008 presidential election — to support abortion rights.
It’s an indicator of something we’ve all been saying, including many of you subscribers and many listeners to my radio program on SiriusXM, about how energized voters would be.
It defies the pundits who’ve said abortion won’t be a big issue in November. And it also defies the polls, one of which had the measure that would allow the Kansas legislature to restrict abortion pass by a narrow margin.
