For us, it was a somber Thanksgiving, being apart from my son and his fiancee, and having lost a family member to Covid. Everyone I know had small Thanksgivings, no large boisterous parties. There are still things to be thankful for: Trump lost with a wide enough margin that his plans to cheat his way to a stolen election won't happen, and his bullshit election fraud lies are biting Republicans on the ass, which actually makes me laugh. I hope what he's doing to erode his base's confidence in the electoral system goes nuclear on the Republicans. And then we can all be truly thankful.

Sorry to hear that Patty about a family member. Yes, he's trying to cheat but it won't work in the end --- and I am hopeful it does hurt them in Georgia.

Did I mention that one of the complaints filed in Georgia spelled the word "court" as "coict"?

I think all of Trump’s lawyers are on drugs...including Giuliani. Their minds are so scattered they can’t concentrate on what lies to tell next , let alone spell common words. Let’s ship them to Mars with Musk’s SpaceEx ambition and let them have at it up there. Holy crap, these people are adults!

Not to mention that Giuliani and his team of incompetent lawyers cannot spell properly or put the correct name of the judge on the complaints they filed to various courts.

Only the best! Another reason why I'm looking forward to his future indictments by AG James. He might as well rep himself since attorneys want to be paid and he's a deadbeat. Maybe he'll cop a plie deal. That would be interesting!

I had the best stay at home weekend. My birthday was Friday and my husband arranged a drive by birthday party. One of my friends made me an amazing sign and cake. It made me cry to see all of my friends, even if they were in their cars, that I hadn't seen in months. Even one of the restaurant owners brought me a tray of enchiladas. It's so sad to be away from friends and family, however, it makes me happy that my group of people are being so darned careful.

It was just me and my wife this Thanksgiving. The dinner was downsized with the exception of the garlic mashed potatoes. Here's a tip for making mashed potatoes: use the smaller varieties such as red or Yukon gold. You don't have to skin them, and they don't take forever to soften in a boil like those flavorless Idaho russets.

Oh I saw close-up pictures of that monolith. Looked like someone welded 2-3 pieces of thick aluminum together. I've worked in a tool & die shop back in Michigan and know machined aluminum when I see it. Sort of like those crop circles back in the day.

Maybe this was some sort of guerilla art project. Living in Manhattan, I'm sure you've seen some of those on a regular basis.

My Thanksgiving was just my husband, me, and our Old English Sheepdog/Golden mix, Archer. It is wonderful to have a pet around during these stressful times. It was so heartening to read about the latest setback for Trump and his crack(ed) legal eagles. Seriously, taking this to the Supreme Court? It seems to me they are just milking the Trump supporters for all the money they can before Trump is out on his fat ass. It's disgusting - as you often say - and sad. Are we forevermore going to have to deal with election losers "Challenging" all results? And, I'm taking bets the MSM is not going to talk about the Republican in-fighting, it will be all about Biden trying to woo Trump voters, or rural voters, or everything but how he won with 80+ million votes!

Scorched earth Dems! Give them no quarter.

Well we did ours all outside with one couple that lives near us here in SoCal. None of the four of us left our homes for a week beforehand, and we spent the whole time outside. Started and ended early. They brought their own cutlery and glasses and their own wine. We used disposable everything else and masked up when anyone went in the house. I even made mini individual little pies. So it was good though ironically was the one windy day of the week, but we had all 100% committed to outside so we soldiered on. Now putting up the tree. Have to say found it interesting that Fox now advertises during football games on Fox sports for its news channel now. Haven’t seen that before, maybe Fake Bone Spurs will go to Newsmax. Otherwise pretty tuned out to news this weekend and has been lovely. Binge watched the Queen’s Gambit which was excellent, listen to music while decorating and putting up tree but will be back with you next week, Mike. Cheers

Yes, you had told us you were doing it outside, and I was so envious. Glad it was nice, even if windy. We loved Queens Gambit, watched over the last few weeks. Now we are watching The Flight Attendant on HBO Max and I really like it, it's wild.

While my non-hubby and I had the sense to stay home, this has sadly turned out to be one of the worst Thanksgiving holidays I’ve ever had. A cousin in SC passed away from a massive stroke; my best friends in Brooklyn had to have their one cat put down much sooner than they thought; and my brother, teenage niece and nephew are going for Covid tests tomorrow.

My ex-sister-in-law’s sister ignored warnings and decided to have her annual Thanksgiving dinner. One of their relatives at the dinner learned yesterday he was positive for Covid. And to top it off he was sitting next to my ex sister-in-law’s mother who is in her 70s!!!! So many poor decisions by a family of teachers that I’m still struggling to understand.

Another friend’s sister decided also to have a family dinner of 9, where 2 attendees are Trumpers. My friend’s sister’s husband is already health-compromised so that’s probably another spreader situation in the making.

And then I read in a news item today that Orange Dipshit and his buffoon Barr have decided to increase executions and firing squads. Firing squads?! What freaking century do they think we live in!!!

Omg, sorry for all the bad news. And that's terrible about the dinner and now the positive test.

My bro-in-law's girlfriend's family are rich right-wing assholes who don't believe in wearing masks, and two of the members of this family had tested positive for COVID. I really can't stand her to begin with since she treats us like servants and gives us hand sanitizer for X-mas.

Yes... a very quiet Thanksgiving in California desert, just the two of us. Avoided the turkey and opted for a slow cook 10 hour pot roast, with Yukon potato purée with lemon zest, baked sweet potatoes with balsamic, ginger and cinammon etc.etc. Cooked heaps and did a “Meals on Heels” run to neighbors who were alone and wisely did not travel to friends/family.

My wife and I usually alternate Thanksgivings between our home in South Jersey to our daughter's family of 5 home in South Carolina. We usually visit 3 or 4 days. This was their year to visit us. But of course since we all want to be safe, we all decided to stay home. It was 4 of us, including my adult granddaughter who lives with us, and her boyfriend who is at our house more than his own. They work together in a field that requires them to be tested regularly. Our dinner was scaled down quite a bit, but we still enjoyed it very much. I did miss watching football with my son-in-law and twin grandsons. We'll be eating turkey for a long time. Had turkey soup last night.

I decided not to take a trip to my family and possibly get them infected. It was strange spending thanksgiving in my apartment.

I was listening to my local progressive radio station today, while getting ready to run some errands (WCPT). One of the hosts had a guest on (Jim), who happens to be a trumper. Jim would argue with the callers and still bringing up the talking points from 3 weeks ago. I heard about dead people voting and Joe Biden is still not president-elect because all the votes haven't been counted. I couldn't take in anymore, and had to change the channel.

Mentioned b4, my wife in med field front lines nursing home. I’m hoping she gets vaccinated by end of December. Her protection, her patients, and me as well. I am "older" and have pre-issues and wheezy allergy lungs normally most days anyway. It’s scary to fight for breath and then think of those much worse going to hospital and on ventilators, that gets real in a hurry. How can so many live in denial of reality ? The REAL fake information bombarding us every day is much behind this unwelcome phenomenon. I heard someone from Europe call into a progressive podcast and he said Europe does not have an assortment of deceitful opinion "news" outlets. Wouldn’t that be super-beneficial here !!!!
