Weekend Report: What's going on?
DOJ will "monitor" polls in New Jersey and California. Trump intent on regime change in Venezuela, while media gives cover on "drug war." Obamacare costs explode as GOP refuses tax credit extensions.
It’s not unusual for the Justice Department to monitor elections. It’s historically the DOJ’s job to enforce civil rights laws and ensure voting rights. But as with everyone else in the Trump administration, this has been turned this on its head. The U.S. is sending an aircraft carrier to the Caribbean. The corporate media keeps buying Trump’s line that it’s a “drug war” with no evidence.
As open enrollment will soon begin, Obamacare costs will skyrocket because Republicans have refused to extend tax credits, the key demand by Democrats amid the shutdown. This comes as inflation is spiking amid Trump’s tariffs and the shutdown itself drags on the economy. Is the GOP feeling the pain enough to cave, or are Democrats starting to crack? Now would be the worst time for Democrats to concede anything, as the evidence of the GOP’s recklessness becomes clear.
