Trump is flailing on “affordability,” as prices soar. New details: “drug boat” wasn't coming to U.S. Surprise, surprise: The rich are not fleeing New York because of Mamdani.
For weeks Donald Trump has gone from calling himself the “affordability” president bringing prices down, to slamming “affordability “as a Democratic “con-job” and “scam,” saying it “doesn’t mean anything.” The White House said it would roll out more ways to address the issue. Now there is a new strategy—which is really more of the same—to just get Americans to ignore the issue. But even Republicans are turning on him.
The latest details from the closed-door briefly with Admiral Frank Bradley before Congress reveal that the alleged “drug boat” struck with a missile twice—after two people survived—was not only not heading the U.S.; it was heading to meet up with another boat, which was headed to another South American country. All of this further underscores how the U.S. is engaged murder on the high seas.
Before the New York City mayor’s race, I wrote about the data that showed the rich never leave their home cities when taxes go up. This was amid all the fear that the wealthy would flee the city—taking their money and their businesses, and leaving the city sinking into poverty—if Mamdani won. But the latest data shows that’s not happening by any stretch. In fact, there’s a real estate boom.
