The Republican National Committee has been completely hollowed out, having long ago become a front for Donald Trump, who took control of the party and never severed ties even as he was out of office. It is not shocking, then, that the committee is going broke, with only a few million dollars on hand, with 2023 fundraising numbers coming in as the worst since 2013. And lots of infighting has broken out.

Friday’s astounding jobs report seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back for many in the right-wing media. After numerous GDP reports and booming job reports for many months, this was a blockbuster report that even had Trump’s former economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, admitting it on Fox Business, along with other pundits. All of which has to be making Trump explode.

And yesterday we got the news that Judge Chutkan had to indefinitely reschedule Trump’s coup case in Washington from March 5th because the DC federal appeals court is dragging its feet in addressing Trump’s immunity claim. All of it is baffling—and worrying—and playing into Trump’s hands. What exactly could be going on?
