Trump refuses to apologize for racist video about Obamas. Brutality against detained immigrants is stunning. JD Vance booed at Olympics, as Team USA members feel ‘heartbroken’ about their country.

After an entire morning in which the White House defended Donald Trump’s late-night posting on Truth Social of a video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, the video was removed. Stunned and scrambling after unabated uproar, the White House—after first defending the video—then claimed it was an “accident,” something posted by a “staffer.” Trump last night claimed to reporters he never saw the image—but refused to apologize for its dissemination on his feed. This incident underscored both Trump’s unhinged racism and mental decline as well as the fear that grips the White House and the GOP as Trump and MAGA continue to plummet.

We’ve seen a lot of focus on brutality against ICE protesters, including the executions of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, largely because there’s been so much video documenting these abominable actions. Inside the Trump concentration camps, however, violence often goes unchecked. One man detained and since released had his skull broken in eight places in an unprovoked attack by ICE agents. His is one of many stories that fly under the radar.

JD Vance, attending the Winter Olympics, was booed—and NBC cut out the boos!—while US athletes were cheered. Still, members of Team USA have mixed emotions about representing a country that is engaging in shameful brutally against people in American cities while the whole world is watching.
