Yet more of JD Vance’s past has come back to haunt him, but this time it’s his much more recent past. While Vance claims he was wrong to call Trump “America’s Hitler” in 2016 and made his conversion to being a Trump acolyte after watching what he claimed was Trump’s successful presidency, newly leaked private communications reveal Vance said Trump “failed to deliver,” among other things, as late as 2020. The new revelations raise more questions about what Vance’s true intentions are, and, putting it together with other aspects of his background, it’s pretty damn chilling…

The attacks by Donald Trump and Vance on Haitian migrants, claiming they abduct and eat pets, may have alienated many of the voters they need to reach at this point in time—and thus were a political misfire—but the threat of violence they unleashed on Haitians has spread far beyond Springfield, showing the danger of Trump’s hate-based campaign…

The Democratic National Committee is following the Harris campaign, which announced in recent weeks that it would give millions of the dollars it’s raised to local legislative races in the states, in addition to Senate and House races. The DNC, for the first time in history, is giving resources to down ballot races—$2.5 million—realizing that winning state legislative races, and at least being competitive, is critical in the long term.
