Weekend Report: What's happening?
Texas Supreme Court forces woman to continue dangerous pregnancy. MAGA Rep. Comer claims Hunter Biden indicted by DOJ to "protect" him. Will Trump be able to push Jan 6th trial past the election?
In an action that showed supreme cruelty and authoritarianism, the Texas Supreme Court halted a lower court order allowing a Texas woman facing dire circumstances to have an abortion immediately. The high court decision to put a temporary halt in place came after extreme right-wing Attorney General Ken Paxton threatened doctors and hospitals if they helped the woman obtain an abortion.
James Comer, the Kentucky Republican who is chair of the House Oversight Committee and is leading an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden—with no evidence, but a lot of laughable claims—actually criticized the DOJ for indicting Hunter Biden on criminal tax-related charges that could put him in prison for 17 years. Comer said it was an attempt to “protect” Hunter Biden right before he was scheduled to testify in the impeachment inquiry, prompting laughter from a television interviewer. You can’t make this up!
