Judge Tanya Chutkan, presiding over the January 6th coup case against Donald Trump, says Trump’s free speech is "not absolute"—not if it affects the integrity of the judicial proceedings. That includes his attacking witnesses and making what she called "inflammatory" remarks, which would only induce her to speed the trial even further. Can Trump actually shut his mouth for once?
The resounding win for abortion rights this week in Ohio has national Democrats expanding the map for the presidential race and for Senate and House races, as abortion is proving to be a major issue for 2024. Of course, many of us said this after the Dobbs decision, only to see Beltway political reporters—and pollsters—continually say it has lost its impact. There’s an enormous disconnect between them and what’s happening on the ground.
And a three-year-old migrant child is dead after being put on a bus full of migrants by Governor Greg Abbott, who’s been busing migrants to other parts of the country and putting buoys with saw-like blades in the Rio Grande as he continues to brutalize asylum-seekers.
