In a week in which Elon Musk defended anti-Semitism on X, and threatened a defamation suit against the Anti-Defamation League, we also learned, after having previously offered help to Ukraine, he wouldn’t let his satellite network be used to thwart a Ukrainian drone attack on Russian warships—causing the deaths of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians as well as massive destruction—and allowed X’s data to be used to torture a Saudi citizen.
GOP donors are apparently in a major meltdown over Donald Trump’s surge in the polls—some despairing while others are in denial—even though they can only blame themselves both for having supported him in the past and doing nothing earlier this year to try to stop him.
And after yet another horrific shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has issued an order temporarily suspending the right to carry firearms in the city. She expects challenges but says it’s the only right thing to do, going on the offensive against the gun lobby.
