Weekend thread: What's going on?

Trump claims arrest is imminent in New York, issues ominous call to violence. New York officials beef up security. Lawyer claims he will turn himself in.

Donald Trump went ballistic this morning in a Truth Social screed in which he said he would be arrested Tuesday and called for mass protest to “TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK.” Following on what happened on January 6th — and his use of the same language — it can only be interpreted as a call to violence.

New York city officials are discussing security measures, worried that the “protest” could in fact turn very ugly, as Trump is desperate. But there will be many other people out in the streets dancing with glee.

And will we see Trump in handcuffs? It’s doubtful — though we will see him turn himself in, according to his attorney, who claims Trump will follow “normal” procedures.
