There’s been a lot of discussion and debate, including on my SiriusXM show, about Merrick Garland’s deciding to appoint a special counsel to continue the investigation of Donald Trump (and other public figures and politicians) regarding January 6th and the investigation of Trump taking classified documents to Mar-a-Lago. Was it necessary to appoint an special counsel, and how long will it take?
Trump had a meltdown about it — and apparently people around him were dreading it — so I’m not sure this is the outcome he wanted, as he wanted charges to just go away.
And a new bombshell report exposes a coordinated campaign to have influential, wealthy conservative families socialize with the right-wing Supreme Court justices to have an impact on their decisions. A former anti-abortion activist reveals his involvement in the effort, and reveals the fact that the outcome of at least one other major decision benefitting Christian nationalists prior to the Dobbs decision was leaked to him.
