This week the gruesome, terrible story of a 10-year-old girl who was raped and couldn’t get an abortion in her home state of Ohio exploded in the media — and in the faces of the GOP and anti-abortion extremists. First, Republicans and Fox News pundits claimed it was a hoax, weaponizing the story and further traumatizing the girl and her family, who had to go to Indiana for care.
Then, after the alleged rapist was apprehended, these vicious smear artists scrambled — with some backtracking — as Democrats in Congress and across the country focused in on the brutality of the GOP.
But the hard-core Christian nationalists were not cowed. They support forcing raped 10-year-old children to have babies.
