Depending on when you read this over the weekend, we are either hours away from a government shutdown, in the midst of one, or have averted one. That’s how much of a shitshow the Republican Party is!

The special counsel late Friday night added more evidence to his motion for a gag order against Donald Trump in the attempted-coup case. Trump cannot seem to shut his mouth, but Judge Tanya Chutkan may shut it for him. Will the threat of fines or even jail shut him up (and would she imprison him)? I doubt it, but I think there’s one thing she can do that could silence him and would be a good thing for us all.

And Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has announced he is running as an independent, leaving the Democratic Party, and dropping his run as a Democratic primary opponent to President Biden. That means he could get on the ballot for the general election. Many are worried that this will hurt Biden. But after months of his agenda being exposed, and being embraced by hard-core conservatives, I’m not so sure. And some Trumpists are now worried.

And another bizarre storm that came out of nowhere dumped more than half a foot of rain on the New York City metro area in a matter of hours on Friday, stunning everyone and flooding subways and streets. We all know there’s only one reason why we’re having more of these scary storms.
