I am hoping the identities get leaked of who murdered Alex. The more they cover it up it the worse it becomes for them and we must continue to amplify the question, relentlessly, WHO KILLED ALEX!

Lorie's avatar

Some hacker specialist is probably trying for identities through facial recognition as we speak. Or someone in ICE is going to leak those names, sooner or later.

There is a remedy section three of the 14th Amendment can remove all insurrectionists, but first we have to take back the Senate: https://scholarship.law.upenn.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=9843&context=penn_law_review&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

The Sarmatians had a tactics, which the Normans learned from those that settled in Brittany. The feigned retreat. He employed it at Hastings, the Norman cavalry broke and appeared to run away, the Saxon shield wall broke and followed them, the Cavalry turned and annihilated the Saxons.

It is possible that this whole thing was planned. Bovino was told to go in rough them up, see what he could get away with. Now the boss is going to come in, to "clean up the mess" but business will carry on as usual, because the lightning rod has done its purpose.

The lightning rod is simply being sent back to it's home in El Centro, along with the agents that committed the murders.

One other though, the rough house comes from CBP, it is the tactics that they use on the border and in the desert, now they have been used to train ICE, and the CBP culture has now infected ICE. ICE are not police, not law enforcement, they are civil servants, agents and carry weapons only in self defense, handguns not long guns, grenade launchers.

They are acting like criminals and should have been arrested, if there aren't enough local cops, then Walz should have activated the National Guard to restore order.

Bovino has done his job, now he can take his CBP thugs, and the killers, back to El Centro, pulling him out is not a victory it is a tactical feint. Nothing will change, only less violence, maybe.

Trump has done what he always does, push boundaries, until there is a new normal.

No laws will be enforced, because state authorities are afraid, and federal laws and court judgments have to be enforced by the Department of Justice and who is the DOJ? Pam Bondi.

donnab's avatar

State A.G. in MN. needs to prosecute the murderers.

William Farrar's avatar

I am disappointed that he hasn't. I expected more out of Keith Ellison, a black and a Muslim. He is waiting for more evidence. Aren;t the many videos enough? What evidence to be had from a scrubbed crime scene, I think Pretti was shot by his own gun, and the shell casings, which were picked up, are long gone.

The only evidence from the crime scene are some bullet holes, and I will wager the CBP dug out the bullets.

Trump has everyone including Ellison and Walz terrified.

Lorie's avatar

I don't believe that Ellison or Walz is terrified, and even if they were, they'd still do their jobs. I suspect that, in the Renee Good case, they are waiting to see if the car, the agent's gun and other pieces of evidence will be released to their own investigators, and they're working with those investigators every day. And the first person who would be at the front of a prosecution would be Mary Moriarity(sp?), who is the County Attorney for the county that Minneapolis is in. Moriarity has appeared on MS-now looking like very much a tough (and angry!) cookie, and said that they will try and gather as much evidence as possible on each case, and whether or not it looks like the Feds will cooperate, sooner or later she's going to take the agents involved to court.

In the Pretti case, no one even knows who those agents were....yet.

William Farrar's avatar

Damn it Lorie, I never said that Ellison or Walz or anyone else was terrrified, I said I was disappointed, Why do people like you go to the extremis and put words in my mouth. I'm pissed.

Yesterday on BBC America, they interviewed Chad Wolf, a former acting director of ICe during #45. He, as does Trump and Noem and Bondi blame Walz for the problems in Minnesota, because, as he said, other states don't have the problem (like Texass) because the governors and mayors work with ICE, to arrest, in his words, criminals.

I want to know what Walz agreed to in his conversation with Trump. All we know is what Trump said, that he had a good conversation, and he and Walz were on the same wave length. A written statement from Walz's office was that Trump would consider (consider mind you) reducing the number of agents. and look into allowing Minnesota to investigate the murders (look into mind you).

And what did Walz commit to, to please Trump and be on the same wave length? Let me guess, the police assisting and protecting ICE, in fact they are already are. I saw on TV, the police protecting ICE from the crowd and even throwing cannisters into the crows.

It appears that it is acceptable with some "liberals" if the Governor and Mayors help ICE and protect ICE while they round up hapless and innocent people.

I repeat ICE is acting like the GESTAPO, and they don't like being called out for what they are. Our governors and Mayors should be protecting the people from ICE not the other way around.

No it doesn't look like the Feds will ccoperate one way or another, given their track record, given precedence why would you even say that?

They will cooperate like Bondi handing over the Epstein files. Who in their right mind, other than a MAGAt or Republican apologist would ever believe Trump

He promises anything but shovels manure.

Lorie's avatar

William, did you reread the comment you posted? Because you DID say 'Walz and Ellison are probably terrified" in your last sentence.

In terms of getting some evidence out of the feds, this is such a high profile case(s), and the people of Minnesota are so distraught over these killings, that DHS may, over time, be forced by the changing political winds to bring forward some of the evidence they're holding.

And you're right, I don't believe a word that any of the Trump weasels utter, including the execrable RFK, Jr. When I think of the bright light that was his father, it makes me very sad.

The reason ICE went to Minnesota, was (1) Trump found out how many Somalis live there, and he especially has always been extremely anti-Black; and (2) Minnesota is a blue state. The highest numbers of immigrants in the U.S. (and undocumented) are in Texas and Florida, but ICE isn't going to ever rush in there, because of the Republican governors; and Abbott in Texas is MAGA all the way.

William Farrar's avatar

Probably terrified, not terrified, probably is conjecture.

Trump has a lot of power to unleash against his enemies, and he unleashes it without a second thought.

Take this phone call he had with Walz. Trump says it was a good talk, and intimated that Walz will work with him.

Working with Trump means submission. What DHS demands is that the National Guard and police work with ICE, as they do in red states,, that means assisting in rounding up people and protecting ICE.

Chad Wolf a former acting director of ICE was on BBC America yesterday, stating that if Walz had worked with ICE rather than the protesters there wouldn't have been any problem.

No comment yet from Walz about his meeting with Trump and what he has agreed to.. No comment from Frey about what he has agreed to with Trump, just comment about Trump saying he would CONSIDER taking some agents out of the state. Some, and Trump's word isn't worth a wooden nickel.

We know why Trump had DHS and ICE descend on Minnesota, it was all about the Somali's and the excuse given him by that kid who filmed his mockumentary. about Somali day centers and fraud.

Fact is there was fraud, and the state caught it and prosecuted it, a couple of years ago,

Anything for an excuse, and if he wanted to declare the Insurrection Act, he could manufacture any excuse, but he doesn't need to, he is achieving his goal as it is.

donnab's avatar

People need to stand up to the lying coward.

Lorie's avatar

Mike, I was just listening to today's show and you stated something like 'Trump heard about the fraud and also the Somalis in Minnesota, and decided to go in there because of the Somalis. No....Trump will do everything he can to bring down ANY black person, and Somalis are easier prey than Black Americans. It's been true of him and his father ever since they had apartment buildings outside the Manhattan area, and NYC had to sue them in the '70's for disciminating against Black people requesting vacant apartments. Trump is always looking for Black people to prey on, just like Musk, and the rest of the white supremacists that hang out with Trump.

We need to say it like it is as often as possible. We might think of what's happening as returning undocumented people to their home countries, but it's really about trying to stop the flow of ANY NON-white person into the U.S. I don't see where ICE or the Border Patrol have publicized the return of any Russians, Albanians, Greeks, or Polish people to their home countries. It's just about the brown.

Sakina's avatar

Amen, Lorie! He also called for the execution of the now-exonerated Central Park Five.

Lorie's avatar

Oh, thanks for that grim reminder, Sakina. Didn't he also want them prosecuted and/or executed after they were set free because another inmate confessed?

And didn't he pay for a full-page ad in one of the NY papers recommending their execution before the trial was over with?

And why did he first try to get rid of the first and only Black woman on the Reserve Board? Yeah, because she's smart and Black. Inside that ruin of a man is a tiny man who knows he stupid and has tiny hands!

Sakina's avatar

So true, all of it!

donnab's avatar

He is so insane!!!!!!!!!

Neil BROOME's avatar

This is complete insanity. It’s paralyzing depressing and infuriating

Lorie's avatar

Don't stay depressed...use your voice. Join ACLU or Indivisible, or any of the many groups pushing back against this fascism. Write all your politicians and tell them how completely unacceptable this is. Everyone able to pick up a phone or a pen should feel the stark necessity of acting at this time in our nation.

Neil BROOME's avatar

Thanks for the words of encouragement I’ve joined indivisible. I attend marches and protests. I contact Elizabeth Warrens en , Ed Markey and Jim McGovern regularly. I volunteer weekly at our senior center. What I am experiencing and feeling is something that all my friends are experiencing. Everyone responds differently to collective grief and trauma which is what is happening.

Lorie's avatar

Neil, I agree with you. While I've been feeling, off and on since 2000, that we really didn't have a full democracy any more, I had no idea, really, of how off the rails we were until Trump. It is extremely upsetting to me to think of all the things going wrong in the country, not only politically, but on Wall Street, too. And also to know that one party doesn't really give a damn about us. But here we are, and there seem to be multiple causes. So I guess the only ones to dig us out of this really deep crevasse is...us!

NB, stumbled on this song today and pondered on how so many of US of the sane 70% might relate. It’s like walking where it has almost always been sure footed and now a foot keeps misstepping, ankle twist, keeping us somewhat off our balance and then it’s harder to fight the winds that blow against us. https://youtu.be/iwkzozKIfCI?si=L7ZV2ropT53Yu_0t

If Mr. Pretti's camera is located, there may be enough he recorded that will identify his executioners. I also want proof that he was carrying two magazines of ammo. Noem and Bovino keep showing the weapon, but haven't supported the claim of the two magazines. I want to know the extent of their lies, and I want the executioners identified and tried.

Jim S's avatar

What he recorded may have been backed up to his phone account if ICE hasn’t erased it already

What a great informative post Michael. Thank you. Maybe there is hope that the murderers of Alex and Renee will be someday brought to justice.

Rosalba Cofer's avatar

The people of the US need to see justice for all that have been killed and made to suffer by trump and his minions in the Republican party.

Keith Alberts's avatar

I heard it was Evan Kilgore.

donnab's avatar

yes, and I believe Jonathan Ross(?) killed Renee Good.

I called you a couple years ago that I drive rideshare in Washington DC and I picked up a passenger from the Darcy hotel on January 5. He saw that I was a brand new driver. He told me that all of Trump’s people booked all the hotel rooms in DC and all of them have come “armed” that was January 5 January 6 was the insurrection..

Toni Marshall's avatar

I heard yesterday that Alex had his ribs broken a week earlier from these goons at another peaceful rally as he was helping someone else. I want to know the names of all the agents and I think Keith Ellison needs to charge them, Kristi Noam, Steven Miller, Bovino etc. Let them go to court.

Lorie's avatar

Anderson Cooper had a great interview this evening with the woman who took the most revealing phone video of the Pretti murder. She was completely awesome. See if you can find it on youtube or somewhere, because she's worth watching and listening to.

Mike Moriarity's avatar

I’ve been wondering same thing Michelangelo. Will we ever know their identities? Probably not until Trump is out of office.
