A "Reagan conservative" calls to defend "Trump bible" in school classrooms
Jason from California said we have to stop the "name-calling." He also said he'd trust Trump alone with his daughter.
Where to begin with this caller to my SiriusXM program this week?
Jason from California seemed nice enough at first, calling in to say he is a “Reagan conservative” and remembers a time when we didn’t have the “name-calling” while having political discussions. He said he listens to my SiriusXM show to get to hear the “other side.”
But when he said Trump, for whom he voted, is responsible for “a lot” of the name-calling—the understatement of the year—I knew this was going to be more delusion. It was also a way to make me seem like the unreasonable one once I responded forcefully to his distortions. They always try this one, but I tend to believe that it doesn’t work—not when they’re pushing defamation. (You’ll be the judge of that.)
The discussion on the program had been about the Oklahoma School’s Superintendent, Ryan Walters, who’s been purchasing “Trump bibles”—with plans to spend millions of taxpayer dollars—to be put in all school classrooms in the state. Several of the largest school districts said no to a video he also wanted all districts to play in class—a prayer for Trump—and the state’s attorney general said the districts had a right to reject this insane demand. But Jason from California thought it was fine to put the bibles in the classrooms—including the bible sold by Trump, who makes money off of it—because every Oklahoma county is "red,” and it offsets that we’re supposedly teaching the “homosexual lifestyle” in many schools.
Huh?
You can only imagine where the conversation went from there, as my blood started boiling. The idea that these people are lecturing us about anything with regard to sexuality—and no school is teaching any lower grades about sex acts—while they support a man who is a rapist and bragged on tape about grabbing women by their vaginas is beyond galling.
By the end of the discussion, Jason said he’d “absolutely” leave his daughter alone with Trump, to which I could only respond that he is a bad father. (If you think I was a little too angry—or got too crass—you are welcome to offer that constructive criticism.)

Just another MAGA ignoramus. Bibles of any kind do not belong in public schools. Homosexuality cannot be taught. It is innate. As the mother of two wonderful adult children who happen to be gay, I can honestly say that my children grew up in a nice middle class suburb, attended Sunday school, attended suburban public schools, and had a stable home life. They weren't taught to be gay. They just were a little different as kids, and it wasn't until later on that they came out of their closets. When people spout off bullshit about LGBTQ, I let him have it right then and there. I do not allow nasty remarks about people who are like my children.
Bibles in public schools? Never in my lifetime has there been bibles in public schools. Not the 50’s,60’s,70’s,80’s or 90’s. My parents went to public schools and never were there bibles or religious discussions in their schools. Send your child to a religious school if that is what you think is important. I knew many people who went to Catholic School. They had a class that was about ALL religions, which was mandatory. I have no problem with that. I knew many people that are Mormon. They went to public school and spent a lot of time at their church, but they never spoke about their religion in school.
We must remember that these MAGA folks only get their info from trump and his followers. They have no idea what the truth is because they don’t hear the truth.
I finally pulled a “Michelangelo” the other day on a MAGA nut in my life. (That’s what I call it when I have had enough of their BS.) 🤣Told her she was in a cult ( she accused Kamala Harris of giving BJ’s to get to where she was in her career) Disgusting!!! I no longer will give these people any grace. Women attacking Women is something I will not tolerate. This person has her own business, and I told her she would not have what she has if it were not for Women like Harris who paved the way for her. Yet she votes for a man who was convicted of fraud and sexual assault. She accused Democrats of creating Project 2025 to scare people. I told her that is a lie and she should google it. She asked “ Who owns Google? You can’t fact check anything anymore” Again, they only believe what they are told by trump.
