Thank you, Michelangelo, for giving such great perspective to President Biden's SOTU address. Onward & Upward to a Great Blue Wave in November!

Biden amazed, wowed and threw all the assumptions fueled by corporate media and their abysmal failure about him out the window. He touched on every lie Magaholics have been obsessing on non stop and totally neutralized their hate , lie filled and conspiracy based narratives. Dead flat lined 💥

It was awesome. Now please tell me how this guy is old and feeble and can’t remember his name. Being facetious. He needs to look straight ahead and not even acknowledge the right wing. They will never support him in anything. Look how those ignorant assholes sat on their hands last night not being able to stand or acknowledge basic principles of democracy Biden was pointing out. Ya so fuck them. We will win in November then hopefully these idiots will be gone with the wind.

Bravo, President Kick Ass! He delivered a much needed as kick to Trump and his vile GOP Congress and lit a fire under the asses of people who should know better, the jerks who harp on his age. Want a street fighter? The world just saw what an 81 year old Scranton boy with a lifetime of experience can do. It was masterful. Thank you Joe. Thank you Dark Brandon. I’m more energized than ever!

I was so impressed with his energy, his responsiveness, and his powerful, thoughtful speech. I am so happy and proud, Bravo President Biden! He really shamed the Trump GOP, and Katie Britt's 'response' kitchen video came off as ridiculous over-acting nonsense. A great night for us!

Mike not surprised you put this out today, and I bet the phones are going to light up on the program today. The speech was GREAT! Even the ad libs were zingers. And WTF was that GQP rebuttal. That was the most whitest, Christian nationalist, fascist, crazy bunch of word garbage ever. And too long, couldn’t stick through the whole thing but am sure you had to for your job so hope you’ll comment more on the program. I mean WTF? No vision. Anyway BIG kudos to Joe, I actually donated last night and am guessing others did. 😎

I read the comments in various newspapers last night. The overwhelming consensus was that Biden hit it out of the park. People were saying they were proud to be a democrat, this puts to rest any notion that he is not capable of another term, and relieved to see him taking on the GQP and Trump head on.

He clearly changed the terms of the debate on all the issues. Finally the GQP is on the defensive. But more important, it energized the democrats. I read many comments where people are more determined than ever to fight for our democracy knowing that Biden and the democrats have our back. Biden gave us all a REASON to fight Trump. The most important thing he accomplished, IMO, is that he has given us all a chance to overcome our own fears and depression over this election, which have been pervasive.

Campaign contributions skyrocketed afterwards.

Great speech by Joe. It should, but probably won’t, put to rest all the bullshit about him being too old. And the GOP rebuttal was fucking hilarious!

I also watched the pathetic "rebuttal" speech that the GOP leaders had corralled Katie Britt, the Senator from Alabama into making. The sad speech was so amateurish and without substance, and certainly succinctly defined the present unhealthy condition of the Republican Party. Poor Senator Britt could only hide behind references to "family", "the kitchen table", a series of lies and of course...."God".

If Britt was the best the GOP could offer the voters in a rebuttal of Biden's powerful SOTU speech, the future looks bright for the Democrats in November, and we should continue to aim at the GOP jugular at every opportunity, we need a landslide win.

I LOVED how he looked right at the Supreme Court and said“With all due respect, justices, women are not without ... electoral or political power". That took some real backbone and I LOVED it.

Great analysis, as always, Michael! I was very proud of our President last night and agree that he delivered one heck of a speech! Masterfully. And this morning, I was excited to hear what my friends who are independents and my friends and family who are Republicans thought of the SOU speech. AND NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THE FIVE I SPOKE WITH BOTHERED TO WATCH IT!! What do we do with an uninformed electorate who have their minds turned off? I am really disappointed and discouraged and more than a little bit disgusted. I just hope that they also can’t be bothered to vote in November.

The headline says it all my friend, thank you for the in depth comments. The needle should move a bit, although it is still fairly early. The President stayed in the Chamber until nearly 11. After a long day and that speech he still kept going. Joe's the energizer bunny!

Great recap, Michelangelo!

There was so much to praise about President Biden’s address, but above all, President Biden himself deserves the greatest accolades. If this address to our nation didn’t put to rest the “age issue”, nothing will. To be able to speak as he did, with passion, clarity and purpose, in what might be the most important speech he’s ever given, was a testament to his experience and his compassionate, vibrant soul.

So impressive was his adept ability to make republicons wallow in their own hypocrisy. When President Biden talked about the need for border security and the toughest bill on record that he wants to sign, being blocked by the very conservative republicons who helped create it, Senator Lankford of Oklahoma was nodding in agreement!!! This most conservative of republicon senators was agreeing with him!! President Biden put the republicons on the defensive and made it crystal clear the republicons only want to create problems for their own selfish desire for power, not solve them.

You are correct Michelangelo; “masterful” is a perfect word to describe our president. Experience and intelligence matter.

Mike, great post and sharing Biden energy. I loved him taking his criticisms straight to the “Supremes” and of course nailing his predecessor with actual factual DT quotes. Also, boxing the ears of that smug little weasel sitting straight behind Joe. The one who believes he is so very righteous with God while simultaneously working so very hard at promoting “The Big Lie”. The one who wants to drag us back 400 years to Puritanism. Biden: “but you can’t lead America with ancient ideas that only take us back“. That’s a direct punch on the little Johnson. Then we contrast the hopeful uplifting end of Biden speech for a better and brighter tomorrow with work we continue doing, to the negative, dark, dismal depressing speeches DT gives on the tattered ruins of America. The contrast cannot be higher. Go Joe !!

i really think it is to our advantage, that the GOP underestimates Joe Biden and his quick wit and cleverness. He always seems to be 2 steps ahead of them. The GOP response was a white woman, in her kitchen sounding like "leave Britney Alone", you bastards. No body thinks things are perfect, but Joe Biden comes off as someone who has empathy, is kind, and cares. But, taking him out now, how are things supposed to get better??
