Closeted MAGA man claims Harris was "appointed"
Tom from Maryland whined that the "public" had no say in choosing the Democratic candidate, but admitted he's not even a Democrat and is "not voting."

Last Thursday, the day of Donald Trump’s disastrous press conference, Tom from Maryland called my SiriusXM program to say, “I don’t like the election one bit.”
And I feel like everyone's trying to prop Harris up. But if you recall, in 2020, she got less than a 10th of a percent. And then she dropped out. No one wanted her as president then. She's not taking any press. This is day 19. She has not taken one press question, and no one seems to be bothered by this.
But in a back and forth, Tom admitted that he wasn’t even a Democrat and wouldn’t be part of the process of choosing Harris—and claimed he’s “not voting” anyway in the general election. So, even if Harris gave interviews and had been chosen via popular primaries (and she was of course on the ballot with President Biden), he’d not be voting for her—or Trump, he claims—because he doesn’t like “either candidate.”
Why is he even calling if he’s not voting at all?
Because of the fact that I have voted in every election since I turned 18, and this is the one I've decided to sit out because I feel so strongly about the fact.
So who did he vote for in 2020?
Why is that relevant?
“Oh, I think we know,” I responded. “It's taken a long time [to answer].”
Why is it relevant?
“I'm just curious,” I responded. “Who'd you vote for in the last two elections? You said you never sat out an election since you were 18.”
He refused to answer. And it went on like this for a while, with him claiming Harris was “appointed” and me having to explain how the party system works, how the delegates vote (and the history of popular primaries), and how Harris announced her candidacy after President Biden dropped out and no one challenged her, though they surely could have. He had nothing.

I heard that man on your show. All he spewed was right wing talking points that make no sense. I swear, there are way too many people in this country who have no clue how their government works, how election’s work. All it takes is a little bit of homework to find out the truth.

Many of us know what's it's like, first-hand, to deal with a parent or other older relative suffering from diminished mental capabilities. Sometimes it's somewhat mild, such as thinking a beloved pet from their past is still alive. Other times it's far more serious and you need to coordinate with medical professionals to determine the best path forward.
A few days ago Donald Trump said that all of you here tonight aren't really here. He said I'm the only one at this rally, and that I'm using Artificial Intelligence to create the appearance that you're here. At the same time he said he was in a helicopter with Willie Brown that almost crashed. Willie Brown said this event never happened. Donald Trump has always been very insecure regarding the size of the crowds at his events, and he recently said that he had more attendees in Washington on January 6th than Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr had during his "I have a Dream" speech.
Donald Trump has also said that no one was killed during the January 6th attack on the US Capitol, that Nikki Haley - not Nancy Pelosi - was Speaker of the House on January 6th, and that he ran against Barrack Obama in the 2016 election. He believes there was a vast conspiracy that stole the 2020 election from him. He said Vladimir Putin will release American prisoners in Russia just by asking, and that he can end Russia's invasion of Ukraine in one day - but won't tell us how.
He said that unless he's elected, we'll have World War 3 and a global economic crash.
He said that windmills kill whales, forest fires can be prevented by raking the forest floor, and that bright lights, household bleach, and horse medications are possible cures for the covid virus.
I'm not a medical professional, nor am I going to diagnose Donald Trump's mental capacities here tonight. But if, in fact, Donald Trump is experiencing diminishing mental capabilities due to his advanced age, we should all be sympathetic to his condition. We should keep him in our thoughts and prayers, but under no circumstances should we put Donald Trump in the position of being President of these great United States.
