I heard that man on your show. All he spewed was right wing talking points that make no sense. I swear, there are way too many people in this country who have no clue how their government works, how election’s work. All it takes is a little bit of homework to find out the truth.
This is a bit off topic, but I hope you'll indulge me for a moment. It's something I'd love to see at a future Harris or Walz rally.
I want to thank everyone for the exciting and enthusiastic welcome you've given us here in __________ today. Before we leave, I want to take a moment to discuss a very serious matter.
Many of us know what's it's like, first-hand, to deal with a parent or other older relative suffering from diminished mental capabilities. Sometimes it's somewhat mild, such as thinking a beloved pet from their past is still alive. Other times it's far more serious and you need to coordinate with medical professionals to determine the best path forward.
A few days ago Donald Trump said that all of you here tonight aren't really here. He said I'm the only one at this rally, and that I'm using Artificial Intelligence to create the appearance that you're here. At the same time he said he was in a helicopter with Willie Brown that almost crashed. Willie Brown said this event never happened. Donald Trump has always been very insecure regarding the size of the crowds at his events, and he recently said that he had more attendees in Washington on January 6th than Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr had during his "I have a Dream" speech.
Donald Trump has also said that no one was killed during the January 6th attack on the US Capitol, that Nikki Haley - not Nancy Pelosi - was Speaker of the House on January 6th, and that he ran against Barrack Obama in the 2016 election. He believes there was a vast conspiracy that stole the 2020 election from him. He said Vladimir Putin will release American prisoners in Russia just by asking, and that he can end Russia's invasion of Ukraine in one day - but won't tell us how.
He said that unless he's elected, we'll have World War 3 and a global economic crash.
He said that windmills kill whales, forest fires can be prevented by raking the forest floor, and that bright lights, household bleach, and horse medications are possible cures for the covid virus.
I'm not a medical professional, nor am I going to diagnose Donald Trump's mental capacities here tonight. But if, in fact, Donald Trump is experiencing diminishing mental capabilities due to his advanced age, we should all be sympathetic to his condition. We should keep him in our thoughts and prayers, but under no circumstances should we put Donald Trump in the position of being President of these great United States.
I listened to a bit of Foxnews this morning, and it was fun to watch Brian Kilmeade and Harris Faulkner whine about, "the awful treatment of Joe Biden by Nancy Pelosi, though he should have been out of office three years ago because he's senile, and how dare the Democrats replace him with Kamala." None of it makes much sense - Biden was already incompetent three years ago, and the Democrats had the nerve to cruelly dump him for Harris." But they are flailing right now, and are angry that Trump's path to victory has stalled, as Harris/Walz is catching fire. Of course, Foxnews has many vicious people on the payroll, and some of them are quite smart. Foxnews is working every day to figure out how to get Trump elected, and they will stop at nothing for Fox to regain the executive office. But at least for today, their desperation made me smile.
As an aside, Friday our community got a shout out from Trump in Montana. He told the crowd, "if 'comrades' Harris and Walz get elected, the people cheering will be the Hamas supporters, the drug dealers, the looters, and the perverts." So Trump is now calling us "perverts," and it's only August!
The former guy's act is old. He's old and suffering mental decline. He's a malignant narcissist and a narcissist never changes. He should drop out of the presidential race (he won't). Faux news' repetitive lying is old. How sad that millions are willing to spew the right wing talking points and not think critically for themselves. I would "admire" callers like Tom more if they just owned the racism and sexism that Kamala triggers in them.

Mike, just a note on one of your guests last week. You had a reporter on from Massachusetts who has written a piece on the Satanic Temple in Salem, Mass. This small group of people are fantastic - the leader, AKA Lucien, was the one who wrote up the philosophy behind their 'temple', and it's brilliant. They are the group who, after abortion was banned in Texas, announced that they would open an abortion clinic on the border with New Mexico - and the Satanists call it Sam Alito's Mother's Abortion Clinic! Since the Satanists have state recognition as a 'church', they are really effective in countering some of the actions of the evangelists and Christian Nationalists. I just wish I had extra thousands of dollar lying around to give to them.

I grew up in Salem MA, so when I heard they were located there I read about them a bit more. I think one of their challenges might be their name. One one hand it creates attention, but on the other hand many people don't bother going past their name. By this I mean voters (sadly more than we know) that base their vote on one factor only. (i.e. Harris is a woman - not getting my vote. Harris is black - not voting for a n****r. Harris is married to a a Jew - ain't no way I'm supporting that, etc.). As you mentioned, if you perform even an iota of research, you'll see that it's a very savvy and strategic organization. And despite the knee-jerk responses from Republicans, they do not support devil worship or other ghastly things they're accused of.
