Let’s all stop using the moniker “GOP”. Let’s call them MAGA or MAGA Republicans. There really is no GOP anymore. I’ve asked this of Thom Hartmann and Dean Obedallah as well. The only ones on Sirius Progress or Substack that have changed this are Jeff Teidrich and John Fugelsang. MAGA Republicans no longer deserve this quaint moniker. They are not older than the Democratic Party. …and they have changed. MAGA is an authoritarian movement. This seems like a small thing. However, we need to change our messaging. We need to resist.

What is disgusting is that he is getting away with everything and is being handed back more power than ever before. In disheartening and the news media is just treating this like everything is normal to point where even I have to sit back and say "well, let's see what they can do", but I refrain!! Because they are monsters!! Also, with the circular firing squad, I think that Michael Tomasky's piece in the New Republic really underscores what really is the key reason why democrats have lost so much in this election cycle. I was talking to someone yesterday, who said "well, Biden should messaged what he was accomplishing" and this led me to ask the question ... if the message wasn't out there that Biden signed this legislation "how did we know about it"? Someone was reporting that Biden was getting these things done. The other thing that really sticks in my craw, is if they loved Trump so much, why didn't he win in 2020? I think if we think in terms of sports and football, we just passed the political football to the GOP, but we can get it back in 2 years., as you mentioned, they don't have a super-majority, one or two seats can be won back in 2 years!! It has happened before. Also, the American people are fickle, and they will expect results and if they don't get them, its over!! but what do I know. I am going to be selfish and say for me, my biggest reason for voting for Kamala Harris aside from the fact she represented change and prosperity for all, is that I do believe Trump is clueless on economic policy and doesn't give a damn to help the working class. My taxes have been out of whack since the tax code change in 2017, I haven't put my finger on why, but i think it has to with the standard deduction versus, my previous deductible items (property taxes, and mortgage interest) ... but I digress!! I think with the trifecta, the GOP fever dream one can only say "be careful what you wish for and with great power, comes great responsibility"
