Agreed!

Next up for Fox is the Smartmatic case. Mike, my understanding was that Fox Corp had between $3-4 billion in the bank before the lawsuits. And Smartmatic is asking for more....$2.6 billion. And then a former program director is suing them for harassing her, and coercing her to give false testimony in the Dominion case. Any chance that lawsuit payments could run them out of business? I guess My Pillow guy is facing lawsuits, too. He's one of their few remaining pillars of their advertising, other than Big Pharma.

I must say, I'm much more enthusiastic about the news these days than during the reign of 45 and all the grifters he brought with them. May they all go to Hell (or Guantanamo) forever! And take the Murdocks, Tucker, Hannity and the rest with them!

Loved the rebuke that MTG got on the floor of the House yesterday! Love that Ralph Yarl is already up and around! Love that the Kansas City mayor is Black, and he watched his prosecutorial staff diddle around with the Yarl case. We all know that if it was a young white man who walked up to the wrong door by mistake he wouldn't have been shot.

I see your contributor, Mark Joseph Stern, one of my favs, is getting more face time on CNN and MSNBC. I can always cheer for more of Mark's excellent discussions of our legal system, along with Elie Mystal - Elie is the quentissential Angry Black Man!

One other thing - if the Supreme Court comes down all wrong about the Mifepristone case, then we should chip in for a funeral for the Supreme Court, because they will lose all, ALL, credibility with Americans. Inserting judges into the work of medical/pharmaceutical specfialists is just crazy, and should have people thinking, what might the Far Right go after next? (We know it WON'T be Viagra, right?!) Will we see statins, or diabetic drugs, or anti-depressants end up in some courtroom? Judge Roberts may go down as the worst Chief Justice.

You know, Mike, it's kind of sad for us 'first wave' feminists that having more women in Congress has brought us the likes of MTG and lauren Boebert - the're both such a waste of space and genetics.

Lorie, I was just thinking about how Dan Goldman got MTG shut down in that hearing yesterday and that even the chairman looked to be too through with her! Lucky for us we have very strong women on our side in Congress.

That is so true, Sakina! I like how we can be together on this comment thread! We have people like AOC and the rest of the Squad, and we have pretty good Dems here in Washington State. Our state is now sending only two Rs to Congress, and they're from rural eastern Wash. We have a relatively new Black Congressperson from our second city, Tacoma, Wash, and she (among others) is pushing DOJ to investigate any civil rights violations relating to the Ralph Yarl case.

I'm really hoping that Diane Feinstein is persuaded to resign and be replaced, so that the Senate can keep confirming Biden's judge nominees. They really, really need age limits for serving in Congress, or we'll get more cases of seniors with geriatrc-related illnesses. I'm surprised she has shingles, because the vaccines for it are really good now.

Hope you have a great day, wherever you live!

Thanks, you too, Lorie! I'm in Maryland in the DC metro area. I'm so thankful to live in a reliably blue state and we now have our first Black Governor, Wes Moore! I'm almost 61 and I can't believe some of the declines I see in myself physically and with my memory. I do hope that Sen. Feinstein is persuaded to step aside. Of course, many elderly people are in better physical and mental shape than younger people, but it's up to partners, family, friends, and colleagues to help those in decline to do the right thing. When my now-deceased mother-in-law was showing signs of Alzheimer's in her early 70s, it took a few more years for my husband and sister-in-law to face reality and take her car and get the caregiving for her that she sorely needed.

Sakina, a huge article just came out in the Seattle Times about a massive 'brain aging' study going on here through the U.W. = they also have people who have donated their brains. The outcome so far is what you might expect - EXERCISE is significant in warding off demential and related brain declines. Good diet, keeping a reasonable weight, engaging socially after retirement, etc. My own mother was pretty sharp until she died at 93. I'm off to the gym in 30 mnutes - x3/week and walking, and I'm 78! (a pre-Roe woman, so I know what things were like before legalization - however, Wash passed a pro-abortion law in 1970, even before Roe).

It's really hard to intervene on a close relative....I had to persuade my mother to go into assisted care - she'd been in an independent apt before that...I wanted her to have as much agency as possible. At one point at 92 she broke a hip and ended up in a nursing home for 3.5 months....that was an exercise in frustration and ferocity for me, since I was 150 miles away and she wasn't being treated well. I really turned in Ms. Thing before it was all over, with expetives flying!

That was my mother-in-law, too! She was fiercely independent all of her life and it was devastating to see her cognitive decline before she passed away last year at age 91. With spring in full swing here, I keep telling myself that it's time to get back outdoors and walking for exercise. Baby steps...

C'mon, girl! We have rain every day, it seems like, in the winter, and we just do stuff in the rain, because other wise you wouldn't be outside for 6-7 monhs of the year! There's a reason that Seattle is known at the Emerald City - it's somewhat easy to be green after months of rain!

Even if Biden or Karine Jean-Pierre don't use the "Fox lies" mantra every chance they get, there are plenty of other Dems and pundits who will. The problem is that many of them don't get enough air time, especially on CNN or even MSNBC. Rep. Jackson from NC is using TikTok to his advantage, so he will probably be one of the Dems using social media to get the message out about the Fox propaganda channel, along with AOC and others.

A great suggestion, but sadly neither the press secretary, nor the president are very good at thinking on their feet or at messaging. The previous press secretary would have done a very good job, and should not have left her position for the big money at MSNBC.

Now that we can call a spade a spade, let's demand Faux News preface every reporting with "Brought to you by lying liars". Cannot wait for the other 6 or 7 lawsuits remaining or in the immortal words of Patsy Stone (AbFab): "Let them Die"...

Fox news viewers wanted to believe Trumps big lie because they didn't want Biden to be President. They wanted Fox to help Trump stay in the White House. Fox is on their side and that's all they care about.

Trump outsmarted Fox and he made $millions on his "Stop the Steal" donation campaign with Fox news' help.

Mike, my shortest ever, “Damn right !!”.

Unfortunately Michael they will do none of that as they are weak and spineless and just like playing the game. I wish that was not the case but sadly the Dems are the corporate media party and just do not like calling out the lies. It is really shameful.

Shane, thank you for examining your motives and questioning the wisdom of purchasing an assault weapon for potential defense against other assault weapons. I think you see how slippery of a slope that is. I don't own a firearm but have taken firearm safety courses and my husband shoots recreationally. My own opinion is that a person of conscious like yourself will be plenty useful in so many other ways if it shit hits the fan with those lunatics.

Howdy SF. Good for you in honesty and digging deeper in thinking on such. Old saying “You don’t miss with a shotgun”, I’m sure you’ve heard that before. For me, an old hand me down one is good nuf for home protection, and more so a baseball bat. I feel less legal issues if a bat is used. I bicycle a lot. An older biking guy on the trail we chatted, he has conceal permit to carry a pistol. I thought about it, but am quite sure I’d tip bike over and shoot myself. So $14 Amazon I bought a little can of pepper spray mostly for if a mean dog gives a mean chase. It also has an invisible marker, if attacked can have police shine a black light on perp and that will show up clearly then as evidence. I really like the comfort of that little spray can going with about everywhere. And if it’s ever used up, there is a lifetime free refill program that came with. $14. I’m impressed, relaxed and happy with that. Have a good day.

Hi Shane, you are not part of the problem, in my opinion. The fact that you question your motivation tells me that you do not take this lightly. You will never be as well-armed as the marauders are, but you could do some damage to them if they come your way. On the other hand, if they do come to power, they will also have the military at their disposal and many of them are current and former military. I do not own any guns myself (hubby has a shotgun), but I am all for responsible gun ownership that does not include assault rifles. The more and more high-powered weapons out there reminds me of the nuclear arms race. I try not to be pessimistic that humans will blow each other up or shoot each other up, but it's not looking too good right now with guns in America.

Shane, I just can't understand why anyone moves right to a step that would involved killing. There are less lethal ways to defend yourself, and they're on the market! As you saw on 1/6, those people got bear spray from somewhere. Pepper spray is readily available, and I purchased a stun gun that sits by my bedside. As a woman alone since I was in my 40's, you think about those things.

But you also must remember that the majority of Americans are not the 2-3,000 people who actually ransacked the Capitol. Most people go to work everyday, take care of their homes, have hobbies and aren't nut bags. Being afraid of what 'might' happen is like being a Fox viewer whose being told to be very afraid of crime, the 'libs', the Covid 19 vaccine, and trans people. It's bullshit. Think positively, unless you live in Florida or Texas, in which case I say - MOVE to another state!
