Thank you Mike for pointing out the hypocrisy of MAGA... violence has become a central element of the GQP and it will only get worse if they do not get what they want... as Mitt Romney said “ most members of our party do not support democracy anymore”.. well said Mitt... embracing violence, embracing Nazis is no way to go through life.. Have a great weekend Mike, rest up and prepare for more MAGA attacks and theatrics.

I have said it over and over again for decades, Republicans are the biggest hypocrites in the political world. They support a person with orange skin that demeans others and provokes his followers to do the same. There is zero empathy, morality, respect from them. People should rewatch the early videos of Trumps rallies and see again how destructive, disturbing and disgusting they were. Never forget.

I could never forget his verbiage when he was campaigning. Making fun of people, including a handicapped man and a gold star family. It was horrid and shocking. The GOP are criminals and govern by threats and intimidation.

They don't care until it affects them. Suddenly it's horrible. No empathy whatsoever. It was the same with gay rights and marriage. They were against it until their kid came out. Some say "better late than never," and yeah, I suppose, but I still say, "F--- you!"

I don't condone violence, but perhaps a few gavels to the blockheads masquerading on the Right as leaders, would go far as karmic retribution for their blatant hypocrises, lies and ongoing attempts to overthrow our government! Justice for all and bag of chips to go.......

Thank you Mike. The national GOP has set the standard for what is acceptable behavior by Republicans. So, now we have all manner of local Republicans stealing campaign signs, crashing private events, etc. etc. It's been a frustrating month. That said, their "votes returned" numbers at present look kinda bad. It's early, with 2.5 weeks to go, but I'd be panicked if I were in their local political shoes.

And we (as in Americans with an ounce of compassion) need to continuously point out that this thuggish behavior is that of Fascists, not Americans. I hope Speaker to be Jeffries is reaching out to the few moderate Republicans left, inviting them to become Independents who caucus with the Dems, and promise them that they would keep their committee assignments. If he can get 5 to flip, it's over for the House GOP. Just a thought. The Dems can do math, but clearly the GOP can not.

It’s time for Jeffries to do exactly that and I hope he’s working on it.

I wish GOP Congressman Don Bacon's wife's own name appeared in any one of the many, many articles about the threats she got. She is simply called "the wife of Bacon" or "Bacon's wife." Sure, we could use Republic of Gilead Standards and simply call her OfDon, but has our society really devolved to that?

Maybe they aren’t using her name to protect her? Although somehow the crazies got her info.

Democrats have been under siege since Trump took office. Remember the mailed pipe bombs? So I have no use. no sympathy for these scumbags who never pushed back when it was the other side of the aisle. Their Maga chickens have finally come home to roost, and Republicans nurtured this. Deal with it like Democrats have done for years now. Grow a spine.

So tragic for our country. Fortunately more Republicans are speaking out like Mitt Romney.

Romney is also a coward, but a rich one--so he's very well protected by the Media Ownership Class. Mitt could have spoken out long ago, and acted against Trump. He could have LED instead of being meek.

I don't think Utah voters would punish him for being more forthright at the time.

I participated in an event here in San Francisco that opened Pride weekend in June. Besides the Mayor of SF, and a state, senator, Nancy Pelosi was a Keynote Speaker. I was on the “VIP“ velvet- rope side and lo and behold Paul Pelosi was standing next to me. At one point I didn’t realize it was him until I saw a Secret Service glance over to him to check if he was alright. I was so happy to see that he was doing quite fine And is an octogenarian. He looked great, and I told him so with a thumbs up and a wave. This was dutingvvNancy was speaking. I can’t understand what is happening. Although I made it every day with the shaking of my head. But this last round of romper room antics Has me agonizing over my desire for hope and transparency. I really do believe that people must see this horrific, dissociative behavior for what it truly is. The tyranny of thought and the destructive forces of malfeasance and malevolence that has comprehensively infiltrated their body politic and the humanity of many Republican elected officials, members in our federal government, AND the souls of many of our Republican brothers and sisters, that it feels as if there will never come a change or end to this Orange madness.

It’s the hearts of all humans to live with this good or evil in our minds. It’s so terrifying to see it with such immediacy.

Mr. Signorile helps so much assuaging much of my concerns merely by doing his work, his excellent work as. journalist.

I hope the implosion and disaster of the Rethuglicans Party will not be in perpetuity but will

end up as a brilliant example of self-immolation where the cancer that is Trumpism will forever be vanished before the House falls on it.

A contributing factor of this "death threat" trend among right-wingers has a lot to do with the alt-right influence from YouTube and social media. Where death threats have been commonplace since the days of gamergate. The prevailing attitude among a lot of the right-wing content creators of that time was: oh well, if your gonna make content on the web than you better expect death threats. That just goes with the territory.

Frankly if you ask me, the FBI should not be so god damn complacent with regards to enforcing laws regarding MAGA cultists making death threats. There will be plenty of space in our prisons for those whackjobs once we stop jailing people for possessing marjiuana. If I had a friend or family member who made a habit of making random death threats to people, I wouldn't speak to them ever again.

Thanks for telling us what we already knew: Maggots are getting appropriate Kharma! From nasty Newt to Gay George, when you are willing to impose your standards on those who don't remotely agree, you will reap what you sow. I would have a scintilla of agitation if I gave a damn about anti-American nihilists but I don't. Their embrace of a compromised idiot tells you all you need to know about who you send to Congress that value their image more than constituent concerns, you achieve absolutely nothing but ego that needs constant feeding. That outside threats are coming at them is proof of seeding the ground with vitriol and expecting adulation of roses to bloom. Who didn't know this would be the end result? The paucity of retained world history is why we are where we are today. Threats aimed at their own is a natural consequence of fomenting and cultivating violent rhetoric. The continued cognitive disconnect is absolutely astounding.

Last night on our local news there was a story about moving all the voting machines and election offices to a central/more secure space. They mentioned the death threats some of the workers had gotten in 2020 as well.
