Now any district court can entertain a challenge to an administrative regulation and prevent its implementation while the judicial process plays out. The immunity decision expands the power of the presidency and goes beyond the grant of immunity by disallowing the introduction of evidence in furtherance of a crime in court. It amounts to a preemptive suppression of relevant evidence regardless of the nature of the crime. The court of so called textualists ignored precedent once again and the constitution to bestow an expansive immunity. The founding fathers had specifically left it out for the president. Again, this ruling comports with the 2025 objective of expanding the powers of the president to shield them from prosecutions and to implement a radical ideology. The fascism is on full display and they are taunting the country. The Heritage Foundation is supposed to be a conservative think tank. Why are they talking about the submission and surrender of the left under penalty of violence? This has been a long term strategy by the oligarchs and religious zealots to undermine our institutions and seize control with just a minority of the population. They believe that they are on the precipice of a power grab. They believe that Trump will implement their radical policies and kill American democracy. This movement is a minority. We are the majority and we have to push the democratic leadership to tell the rest of America what is happening. They will start with the immigrants in the camps, then their political enemies, the LGBTQ community and anyone else they deem a threat. Trump wants to try his political opponents by military tribunals. He wants to suspend civil rights and send people to jail. There is no end in sight to the frightening lunacy of these people. Nearly a billion people have been killed in the name of religion. What’s a few more in the name of God for the chosen! They have published the broad outline but they are keeping secret the measures they will take in the first 180 days to shock and paralyze any resistance. These planners are mentally ill, they need to be stopped.

I see people still lost in denial about how we can change this with people thinking there must be SOMEONE who can do something but no governmental entity is available that can do that. Agree Chris, public apathy and lack of historical knowledge is why we’re in this mess. Too many Americans lack the knowledge needed to make political choices.
Education is the key.
Which the republicans made sure to destroy via: a) vouchers and charter schools to divert public funds and quietly resegregate schools. b) measures introduced to please the unchristian nationalists (ten commandments and the bible in lieu of increased funding)
They’ve been destroying public ed for years. So many states have wiped away Civics Ed for obvious reasons. Most Americans today (especially those who grew up in red states) have no understanding of the three branches of government.

Hi Mike Happy 4th to you and your husband. Concerning your piece I have 2 comments. 1. With the SC decisions it seems that we have observed the initial underpinnings of Project 2025 as these decisions seem to fall in line with the stated goals of Project 2025..basically we are there…now…. 2. Regarding the Heritage’s leader calling for a Second American Revolution, I call BS on that… Americans should view this movement as the new Confederacy… install an Autocratic regime…. Overthrow the rule of Law…. Embrace of oligarchs in our political system, because rich people know how to govern … As a reminder prior to the Civil War most of the South was ruled by wealthy autocratic governments, wealth generated by slave labor and poor Whites, all under the guise of Christian Nationalism…
And folks should remember that on a national level prior to CW these confederates used “nullification” as their go to strategy.. Today we find “nullification” for women’s health rights, separation of church and state, establishing a state religion, gay rights, voting rights, New Deal programs, Social Security, Medicare and a various host of issues… Rest up fellow travelers it’s going to be a long and bumpy road.

I had a Hair on Fire response but deleted it. What I did do was contribute to Biden-Harris and located the condensed Project 2025 floating around and Media Matters guide to Project 2025 and made copies for my friends who rolled their eyes when I told them it was homework for the upcoming election. The reading may be the cliff notes but the frightening contents will make you reconsider sitting on the sidelines. Hope your 4th of July was good one!
