Since Trump ran for office it has always appeared to me that the media welcomed authoritarianism. The billions in free coverage for Trump. I get it. It’s all about sensational journalism. Report the bad. Not the good. That’s what brings them money. Pathetic. Expect more of the same from these people. No matter what good Biden does it will be eclipsed by an asshole.

In your quote from Trump “ not knowing whether to smile for the media”. This monster has a scowl on his ugly face 99.9 % of the time. Don’t think that was a big decision.

Hi Mike, listening to your show yesterday focusing on the shit show in Tennessee, I believe these legislators have been to fascist school courtesy of CPAC and one of their fascist leaders Victor Orban... these tactics were spelled out when CPAC went to Hungary and is continuing up to today.. Orban gave these folks the road map to total control and it seems they are following their lessons because all they care about is total power... I believe we should connect these dots and shout about it at every opportunity... thanks for what you do Mike for all of us fellow travelers.

I yawned at the apparent bootlicking since a more immediate newsworthy latest salvo against democracy was unfolding in Nashville. Three state legislators were admonished for daring to hold their colleagues feet to the fire regarding gun violence and the result was 2 of them being expelled for holding up a mirror to the hypocrites in the majority. Wake me when the subject is no longer hair fuhrer...

“No commander in chief in more than a century has been eclipsed in the public eye by the leader he succeeded the way Mr. Biden has at times. Now with the first criminal prosecution of a former president in American history, it will be that much harder to command the national conversation.”

What has happened to real journalists who state facts and do not write their opinion? This quote is an opinion, and to me it only down plays the accomplishments the Biden Admin. has made in spite of the insanity surrounding Trump. They have stayed above the fray and there has been little to no comment on the legal trouble Trump is facing. As it should be. How about the Times write a story about that? My Father lived by The NY Times, he read it every day. He would tell me I should get a subscription. I never did.

It’s just a sorry day when it comes to the media in this country. I am more and more ashamed of what is happening here. But this is my home, my country and I will do everything I can the next election to vote these horrible people out of office. We must concentrate on elections, because that is where we see the most positive changes being made.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend and Happy (post) Passover!

Yep, we already knew Maggie was a trump shill for access and Peter Baker is just awful going back to his "but, Hillary" days so not surprised he's stirring the pot.

Braggs case is very strong and the unfortunate “Orange” journalism created by the writers you mention only paves the way for decades of that man’s “karmic orange cloud of doom” will be with us for decades long after we’re no longer here. This is the great toll his presence in this world has wrought. Look what happened in Nashville yesterday. 2 out of three Democrat State Reps We’re expelled from the State Legislature for protesting with Students that interrupted house business leaving their mostly black constituents without representation. Hmmmm?

The 2 expelled were Black men-Justin Pearson and Justin Jones. The white woman survived. Luckily they’ll be back in... but the whole business represents the fact that you may have gotten the big Cheeto, the Cheeto Dust Cloud will perpetuate in America for many decades to come.

When the NYTIMES turns this crap out I turn to the Washington Post and to you, Michaelangelo.

Fascism is here to stay. But I never will drink THAT Kool-Aid.

I don't know why media organizations like NYT and CNN try to appeal to the right-wing MAGA cult, when those cretins think mainstream media giants like them are an agent of Satan or some crazy batshit nonsense.

I saw both the Wash Post and NY Times revert to the "This is good for Trump" memes, although if you REALLY READ the indictment, DA Bragg has Trump NAILED to the wall. As a retired historian/Ed geek, his office has linked every charge to the evidence at hand (vouchers and/or check numbers). It's really a glorious document.

Thank you Michelangelo for calling BS on truly LAZY reporting. Fawning media coverage of Fascists is the super highway to a autoritarian autocracy.

Thoughts on Ana Cabrera jumping ship at CNN?

What if the “duty” is to stir the pot to get more readers/viewers and advertising revenues? If that were the case, the media, including the NYT, is on point and not derelict at all. We are doomed.

Signorile's article about the NY Times's dereliction of duty is why I stopped being a paid subscriber. Their political writers somehow think that the horrors of violence, the slaughtering of children, and the profound suffering of their loved ones are some surreal drama played out in journalistic games so that these writers can win internal points, have access, and support the status quo. James Madison promoted the First Amendment and, with it, the Free Press to hold the feet of truth to the fire. Instead, the paper of record sugarcoats the elites' lies and deceptions, leaving the victims to tumble into the pits of unimaginable suffering. Meanwhile, progressive news writers start with facts, evidence, and collaboration framing our critical thinking and discourse, which is why I became a paid subscriber to Michaelangelo Signoreli Podcast.

NYT always feels the need to raise the GOP and lower the Democrats to look fair and balanced.

Trump knows that his drama and snarky comments draws viewers and the media uses him to help their ratings.

Its interesting how Trump is in agreement with Biden on not cutting Social Security or raising the age eligibility.

Thank you Michelangelo for calling out this bullshit. I am tired of seeing Haberman and Baker on MSNBC selling this kind of crap. Guess their editor must be calling for more cowbell, er Dump. Pathetic situation. Happy Easter to you, David and the family, especially your mom! I remember the first time I attended a family gathering in Grandma's basement in Brooklyn, it was Easter! Don't eat too much. <G>

The NY Times and the Washington Post concluded the case against Trump was "weak" before they even saw the indictments. Even after they came out, and we all realized that the case was stronger and far more wide-ranging, the reporters still claim it's only about hush money paid to a whore that Trump wanted to keep secret.

The op-eds have mostly been about how "risky" the charges are, and that the whole thing could backfire against the Democrats. It's all "unprecedented" and it will "stir up Trumps base," which would really really be bad for the country. There might be protests!

Now, there are GOP prosecutors around the country trying to find something to pin on Biden. If they do, you can count on the Times and the Post to urge Biden to resign just because.

Fortunately, reading the comments of readers, every single one supports the prosecution, states that no one is above the law, and damn the supporters because they are always angry and stirred up anyway.
