I would like to hope that behind the scenes, Democrats are trying to work on vaguely rational Republiscum who are retiring and/or who won't be running for reelection until 2026 to give some thought for the future of our country, since realistically they have nothing to fear from the manic twats of a 74-year-old psychopath. I agree. It is REALLY regrettable that people like the former Orrin Hatch, who had fully endorsed Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court but who wimped out fully when push-came-to-shove and the moribund Chuck Grassley, who like Hatch used to have integrity even if wrong-headed on many issues, no longer exist. And for what? And it would take only a couple, a couple who have literally nothing to lose, to make quite literally a world of difference and yet jettisoned the world. For what?? (Think Jeff Flake, Bob Corker, and above all, over and over, Lamar Alexander. Think also Jesus and St. Thomas More, even if he might not have "approved" of us.)

Of all the current issues going on now politically, this is the primary issue that concerns me. Having Republican legislators potentially overruling the voters is bluntly frightening.
In the words of Joe Biden, "...come on, man".
And like you said today, the Republicans are mirroring Trump's playbook which so many other states are as well. Right when I felt things were looking stable, except for the mass shootings of course, we are re-experiencing the Jim Crow era. And the woman who was arrested yesterday in the GA State Capital building is like going back to the era of the Freedom Fighters of the 60s.
When is Joe Biden going to declare the RepubliKKKlan Party an International Terrorist Organization (that got plenty of help from Russia in 2016 and ever since), and start arresting its leaders and holding them accountable? Declare martial law please (especially in light of the sedition and murder on January 6), because we must stop the march of fascism in the USA led by #TraitorTrump fanatics and #MAGATs who want to suppress free and fair elections, the civil rights of all our citizens and cater to the corrupt interests of their criminal co-conspirators, cheaters and crooks. We must eradicate these anti-democracy GOP voter suppression laws, like Kemp and Georgia GOP enacted into law in Georgia. How can we do that with the filibuster? We cannot. The filibuster must be eliminated. We hold the power but we have to use it while we can to save democracy and the country.
The only way the GOP can win elections now is by cheating. This is why they are passing anti-voting bills in GA, FL and other southern states. The courts and ACLU need to get involved. Democracy is dying if this behavior continues. The GOP is a white dinosaur trying to stay alive by destroying human rights. We must be involved and do all we can to save Democracy.
