UGH! Listening to him quoting scripture reminds me of why I chose a life without religion. I'm grateful my Christian parents are not like that. Still, I can't help feeling religion is often as much a cult as anything else. I don't need cults in my life. Mastriano is gross and sick. The people who buy into it are as bad or worse. It's depressing to have to share a planet with them.

It makes me ill to think that so many Americans think it's dandy to live in a theocracy. Even here, in the kingdom of DeSatan, most people I've met believe in separation of church and state. The brain dead will vote GOP because they've always done so, without considering the dangerous path the Republikkkans are on.

You're right, Michelangelo, we cannot assume that he will lose, especially with the mainstream media focusing on inflation, baby formula shortages and the like and somehow insinuating that President Biden and the Democrats are to blame. All are important issues but are less relevant in the face of the loss of our democratic republic in the next couple of years. I've liked what I've seen of AG Shapiro, so I think that he will hit back hard against this "Christian" nationalist.

As usual Michelangelo, you are directly on point. It’s the White Christian Nationalists vs. Jews, Blacks, Women, LGBTQ, and everyone else. Mastriano is an utter insult to Italian Americans, since he perpetuates the worst stereotypes about us as ignorant louts.

I suspect the Keystone state will descend into keystone cops politically because no one is mentioning the root of all this is the inherent racism of former usa. Democracy will end up like Washington's slave who escaped him in Pennsylvania never to be recovered...

When we have so many corporate Democrats in office that don’t do anything to stop fascism – how can we win anything?

In Texas - How can anybody support Henry Cuellar- (Trumps favorite democrat). Jessica Cisneros is running against him. Nancy Pelosi and other right winged democrats support Henry. He is anti-woman’s rights and pushes his religious draconian views in his legislation.

It’s disheartening.

We see the steady drip of fascism with Mastriano and his fellow travelers, we see the steady drip of “Christian Nationalism”taking over our body politic. Folks that are not of this persuasion will surely be vilified, expect this particular race will be very, very nasty and anti Semitic considering the background of the GQP nominee coupled with the spread of the Gross Replacement Theory. BTW, the GQP nominee and his wife were present in the Capitol on J6….that should give pause to all voters in his state.

There aren't federal and Penn state laws against insurrection and laws against sending fake electors to the Electoral College? If so, how can Mastriano be legally free to run for public office at the state level? How can he commit these crimes and still be able to run for office?
