The border-for-Ukraine deal is a far-right wish list of ugly anti-immigration policy. The GOP is torpedoing it, bowing to Trump and handing Democrats more ammunition.
It is truly amazing how cowed (or ignorant) the Repugnicans are when they throw away the most restrictive border bill created in the last 70 years! Pathetic, but, once again, It is at our own peril that we elect people who don't believe in the US constitution and the rule of law. Definitely a win for Democrats for November.
They need issues to attack Biden so the border is the issue. They want to keep using it as an issue; solving it would be a feather in Biden's cap. They have nothing else. Let's hope abortion brings women in droves to the polls. Women's reproduction is an issue for women and their doctors -- not the politicians.

I have wanted Biden to use state of emergency to fund Ukraine and I know he does not want to, but seems like a great opportunity when the house rejects the bill and the state of emergency is the border ( which Republicans have called it for years and don't want to end) Biden could the do the good things in the bill- more money for judges, giving green cards to those waiting for asylum, etc.
