Personally, I am sick of the flaccid, bureaucratic, namby-pamby response of the DOJ while autocracy and fascism are headed toward us like a runaway train. Garland should step down and be replaced by a new AG with the fire in the belly that the current threat demands. I imagine where we would be today if Kamala Harris had been named AG and not VP. Instead, we are stuck with a DOJ misdemeanor factory little interested in decisive action for fear of upsetting members of the American Fascist Party. I know replacing Garland won't happen, but it should. Michelangelo, I am becoming more and more concerned that 2024 may be our last presidential election. If so, the DOJ will have been partially responsible.
I said it when he was appointed and it isn't a joke: Judy Garland would have been a better AG than Merrick Garland for the simple reason that Judy was a true blue Democrat and a patriot. Garland is a RepubliKKKan. Biden is a wimp for having nominated him to be AG and wimpy Dems are going to continue to let this country go to hell because the fascist GOP is playing for keeps and the Dems keep bringing knives to a gunfight. Either step it up, Biden, and get rid of Garland or be prepared to see the USA go down in flames. It's truly disgraceful.
It is up to us, to demand that the Democratic Party stop farting around with our Democracy; we are not in an incremental, evolutionary change moment.(hope you enjoy your recess this week) Republicans are kicking our ass just like Hitler kicked Europe's ass before the U.S. came in to the war. It's happy appeasement time now. The media will be doing postmortem on the elections until 2022, as the election, according to them is already happening, and I have taken a bunch of it in, and it is too complex to go in to here, but I will mention one scary aspect that may have happened in Virginia(don't know for sure but I have good intuition) is that the door knockers in rural areas were KKK and were telling people, "I know you are a good family and that you will vote Republican"
Perhaps its a good thing that Garland DIDN'T get on the Supreme Court, he would be the Joe Manchin of the court! I think this appointee was a promise that Biden made to Obama, but there is no reason that he can't change it. All involved in the January 6th insurrection need to be in court (or worse) TOMORROW if they value this experiment started 200 years ago. It can and will go away at some point, but I don't think the World is going to let vigilantes and anarchists get their hands on our nuclear arsenal.
This is exactly why those of us who are life long Democrats get so disillusioned with our party. Those in charge finally get some power and then they become wimps. I keep waiting for the big ball to drop and see these scumbags brought to justice, but it never happens. Little snippets to read on the news, yet nothing from the media to keep the issues up front and in the minds of the American people. It has always been this way, always.
