Trump is scared about the mid-terms—let’s be clear about that. He knows if Republicans lose control of the House and possibly the Senate he will be investigated and bogged down, unable to do many dangerous things. He’ll be held in check on much.
So it’s not a coincidence that he went on Dan Bongino’s podcast and called for elections to be “nationalized” as he saw more losses for the GOP.
As I discuss in this Substack Live, Trump’s threatening proclamations are a measure of our success. His other schemes—like mid-decade gerrymandering—aren’t working out. We’re winning, and he’s going to further extremes.
That doesn’t mean, however, that we shouldn’t take him seriously.
