Joe Biden is the candidate. Let's get to work and beat Donald Trump.
The past two weeks have been a roller coaster, with media elites driving it. The president isn't bowing out. We have to defeat Trump and Project 2025.
The New York Times is out with another editorial, this one calling on other Democrats—the leadership and elders, including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi—to call on Biden to drop out of the race, as the Times did two weeks ago.
Who’s gonna tell them?
It’s over. He’s in, and going nowhere—whether you, I, or anyone else is happy about it or not.
Jeffries, late yesterday, came out in full support of Biden staying, as did Pelosi. As did the very popular Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Robert Garcia, among other young progressives. As did the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
There may be six members of the House (none in the Senate) who went public calling on Biden to step down (and another four who said so privately), but that amounts to a grand total of less than five percent of the Democrats in the House.

We were told by the corporate media that with members of Congress coming back to Washington yesterday after hearing from their constituents over the long holiday weekend, there would be a groundswell of energy to force Biden to drop out.
But that doesn’t seem to be happening. Instead, yesterday, superstars like AOC stating they’re backing Biden drowned out the call by Rep. Adam Smith of Washington—who may have more seniority but is little known to a national audience—for Biden to leave the race.
Those members backing Biden did hear from their constituents, but what they’re hearing is what I’m hearing on my SiriusXM program from the vast majority of callers: they want Biden to stay and are angry at the media and Democratic insiders. Many in the grass roots of the party have in fact been angry since the day after the debate, when they saw the media feeding frenzy begin.
Whatever polls show about a majority of Democrats wanting Biden to leave, most of the people who believe so clearly aren’t passionate about it enough to pick up a phone and call their members of Congress or a call-in radio program.
I may be wrong, and it’s possible it goes the other way again. But it seems like it’s a done deal. The columnists and prognosticators who called for Biden to leave can probably blame themselves. Many did not provide a clear-cut solution—just called for Biden to leave—like suggesting the relatively easy fix of having Vice President Harris put at the top of the ticket, a natural solution since she’s on the ticket and would get the war chest of money, while no other candidate legally could.
Others floated notions of a “mini-primary” or a battle at the convention among delegates to pick a candidate—and there is James Carville’s crazy plan to have Bill Clinton and Barack Obama “choose” eight candidates who would hold “town halls” around the country.
Many people, apparently including many members of Congress, got the whiff of injustice at bypassing Harris and and envisioned chaos with other solutions.
Again, I could be wrong, and the Biden folks may not have turned the tide. Or there could be some other event that happens in which Biden scares people, which once again plunges us into uncertainty and possibly pushes him out of the race—though time is running out.
But right now, it looks like Joe Biden is the candidate, and we have lost time. Trump is scared, running away from Project 2025 as it gets more exposure, while quietly making the Republican Party platform one that mirrors the plans in Project 2025. The president has been hitting Trump hard in interviews. It doesn’t make up for the debate performance, but it does show he’s committed and going full force.
We have to do the same. There will be continued noise. The New York Times is blowing up a story about a renowned neurologist who specializes in Parkinson’s, for example, visiting the White House eight times, per White House visitor logs. But the specialist, who did examine Biden three times (over three and half years, so a yearly exam), determined he doesn’t have Parkinson’s, per the president’s doctor’s own report, and apparently was there on some of the visits advising the administration on Parkinson’s disease legislation the president signed (Biden wasn’t in the White House on at least two occasions in which he was there).
There will be a lot of this, but right now we have to tune it out and focus on Trump. Whatever we all may think about the debate and whether or not Biden should have left the race, it appears the train is leaving the station. We have got to focus on Trump and defeat him.
Am I the only one who’s tired of Carville’s “act”? He’s been a wily, successful Dem operative for years but at this point it’s not just his plans that are”crazy” (and I’m 75 myself, no youngster).
Biden has said numerous times he is in it to win it and is NOT dropping out - conversation over, people! Shame on any democrat in congress saying otherwise! This is the 12th hour and not the time to take down the incumbent who got the country back on track after Trump, democrats! And I also don't think it is as bad as the media portrayed it. I also think that the interview with Stephanopolous was terrible for ABC, not Biden. I mean, how many times can you ask the same question, George? Terrible interview for George. The guy said he is staying in! Let's get real ... no one who was in Biden's camp before s now suddenly going to vote for trump. I also think that that stupid 90 minute debate did nothing to change anything! I would vote for Biden if he was in a coma in a damn hospital bed before I would ever vote for Trump. Lastly, yeah... Biden is older now and this is his last run obviously BUT SO WHAT. He CAN operate at full capacity because he has a staff of people to help! He is not one guy doing this alone! AND, if you supported him in the past, you should support him NOW and not betray the current president who got Trump OUT OF OFFICE to begin with. Stop letting fear drive you and understand all of this is just NOISE and meant to detract. The mainstream media is a side show circus for ratings and drama - nothing more. I do agree it is aggravating to hear it all day from the media. Let's NOT fuel the fire!
