i think the DNC got this format down well. The videos are powerful, emotional. The testimonials from people. Mayor Bowser from DC was great. Then there's a brief panel discussion on systemic racism, with Biden moderating. then performances. Then Rep. Jim Clyburn comes in from South Carolina. And on....it's just very well don. All shareable, and all evocative.

MIchelle Obama torn Trump apart, basically trolling him on all the things that hurt him -- his not really winning the popular vote, the number of people dead from covid, the way the destroyed the economy, white supremacy, his chaos....This was very powerful and gripping.

Kristin Urquiza is powerful. Had her on my show. She’s leading a movement of people who lost family and friends to coronavirus.

She was inspired by the AIDS Memorial Quilt, to make sure we don’t forget. Glad she spoke tonight. Turning grief into anger and action.

Here's a clip from my interview with here, where I'd posted here in the newsletter.

MSNBC discussing how her line that the only pre-existing condition her father had was trusting Trump is going to resonate with many people.

I thought I remembered hearing her on your show.

Ok, the opening with the kids -- it made me tear up!

It was extraordinary! I'm beginning to think that this may be a better medium than having a crowded, noisy, overstimulating live convention.

Same, tried to keep it together. Esp. during the Preamble, wow!

Me too

Looks like Trump is completely triggered by the convention and Michelle Obama, which was one of the points. He always takes the bait and shows his hate.

He's probably also pissed off that the convention is virtual this year. Now he can't send out agitators to cause chaos like the 1968 convention.

Oh yeah almost everything they accuse Dems of is projection. In fact you can tell what they're up to by what they accuse Democrats of.

It's not really speeches --- it's just a lot of thoughts, remarks, comments. Music. visuals. Really hitting on emotion, which Democrats are usually not good at. Certainly not in their ads. So this is good.

The roundtable is playing to Mr. Biden's most attractive quality .... he *listens*, is compassionate, and responsive.

True --- and it was smart, powerful and focused on a complicated issue but done in a way to really reach people.

What an awesome first night for the DNC: Gov. Cuomo, addressing the ongoing division by the Orange Turd, Bernie calling Trump a threat to the U.S. Democracy, and Former First Lady, Michelle Obama, Trump being over his head, wrong president for the country, not being who we need him to be for us “It is what it is”, Flawless!!!!

It’s like getting a both a thrashing and a pep talk from Mom.

I really enjoyed the interview with Jim Cooper! Shared it with many friends on FB who live in TN.

I am enjoying the DNC! I have watched it every four years since I was a child and it is exciting. I have worked for two campaigns and have never voted for anyone but a Democrat.

Although it’s different, it still makes me feel good and like there is hope again.

The past four years have been like a dark hole with intermittent periods of happiness. The negativity and energy is draining for our country. Thanks to you, and the other Progress hosts, many of us have had a political support system. Best Regards, Sandra
