These folks need deprogramming. I hope that the 2024 election loss of the former guy, plus criminal conviction and jail time for him and his cronies will help to deprogram some of the cult. It won't be all of them, unfortunately, James included.

If the orange buffoon doesn't go to prison, our country has set a new precedent for acceptable corruption for the wealthy. Frightening.

Rick, you're correct. If he escapes prison, that's the end of the American experiment.

It’s incredibly frustrating that so many have become zombie republicans. That’s what I call them. That guy was no more a Democrat than the man in the moon. We have always had people like him on the fringes of society, but what DJT has done to brainwash and bring these people to the forefront of the political debate is horrible.

I guess I was naive when I was really young, I watched our elections ( because my Parents always did ) and no matter who won the race, Congress would come together and work together for the good of the people and country. Aside from the Vietnam War in the 60’s and 70’s, it seemed that way. Then we had Nixon and Watergate, then Reagan. It’s been down hill ever since. So here we are in the 21st Century with a population of dimwits who continually vote against their best interest, and believe crap that would be debunked simply by using common sense and a little detective work. America what has happened to you?

Donna, you are so right. As a college student in the 60s, I thought we would change the world. Make love, not war. I was VERY naive. I think the world is worse than ever now, and Reagan started it....the long-range plan of the GOP to funnel all $ to the 1% at the expense of the rest of the country. Sadly, MAGAts are too deranged to recognize when they're being screwed.

I just hope that Democracy will win. Privacy will win. Religion will be dearly separated from Government again ( probably the biggest fight ). That’s my hope for my grandchildren’s future.

Agree. Separation of church and state is crucial for the survival of our democracy.

Exposed. It always comes down to that moment when a deluded person cannot keep up the charade any longer, they melt down and spill their real feelings out. This guy has been marinating in right-wing media. That's all there is to it. Your approach is correct, and more of us should be doing this - shutting the talk right down. No, I don't want to hear about stolen elections, Satan and gay people, QAnon bullshit, etc. That kind of talk is not happening around me any more without my saying something. Which happened to me a couple weeks ago at work, where two coworkers were talking about Trump and musing on how Jesse Waters is filling Tucker's shoes. I stepped out of my office and told them they shouldn't be talking politics (and no, I'm not their boss) and that I did not want to hear their garbage.

Hi Mike, I thought you handled the call appropriately... Look, this guy was obviously a MAGA troll, fact free, no critical thinking skills, just someone who is in the maga information silo. The last part of the conversation where he talks about the abomination of homosexuality gave his game away. So we all know who he is, who he represents along with his deep sense of religious morality IMHO....Mike, you did a fine job, you exposed him for the charlatan that he and his “movement” are....Bravo 👏🏻

It is difficult and almost impossible to analyze arguments made by these conservatives. They are impassioned and illogical.

Just the clap back alone was worth the braincells lost listening to "James". You were magnificent in deciphering this nutjob and making him pay for his folly of misrepresenting himself. Nominating you for an official democracy guardrail. Keep up the good work kind sir!

It never ceases to amaze me that these delusional morons will call your show and desperately try to pull an act like this, thinking that they are going to make some kind of point that will... what? persuade listeners to suddenly see the error of their beliefs and join the Trumpers? Love hearing you shut them down Michelangelo!

Keep up the Great work. You are a National Treasure as are all of your fellow Progressive collegues sounding the alarm. Expect a call from Nick Cage for a starring role in NT part deux.....LOL.

I was listening when that caller called in. You know if people are defending Trump then they are not democrats. True democrats want Trump to be held accountable, not because he is on the other side, but because he committed criminal acts. And if the shoe were on the other foot you know damn well that the GOP would do everything to bring the hammer down on the democrat. It irks me that they themselves don't realize what an albatross that Trump is to their party's existence.

Hardcore misogynists like that guy make up a large part of the GOP base and dont even realize they are misogynists. It's really scary when you think about it and imho people need to stop telling themselves those attitudes are an outlier and if Trump goes away the "real" GOP may return. Nope, wanting a total abortion ban with jail sentences to Uber drivers that give pregnant women rides IS the GOP. Oh and you can bet this guy who called would approve shooting migrants on-sight at the border and doesnt care if brown kids work 16hr shifts in meat packing plants. These people are sick and they make up 35% of the country or so. Yikes!
